RECAP: Bud Light Music Brings Epic Stage Moment to Opening day of Lollapalooza

Bud Light Music closed out the first day of Lollapalooza with a bang, bringing an incredible stage moment to the city of Chicago to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the famed music festival.

Bud Light Music Stage Moment at 2016 Lollapalooza Music Festival in Grant Park

Bud Light Music partnered with local Chicago DJ Duo Flosstradamus to create a stage moment that Lolla attendees will be talking about for years to come. As the electrifying DJ Duo closed out their set, they brought out none other than Chicago native and Chicago Bulls NBA star, Dwyane Wade onto the stage as he excited the crowd with his opening remarks saying, “It feels good to be home Chicago.” Once onstage, Wade continued the All-Chicago-everything theme by bringing out Grammy-Award winning singer Michelle Williams to sing her hit song “Survivor.”  Things got even more interesting as Chicago’s favorite hometown artist, Chance the Rapper joined the group onstage to sing hits off his recently released album, Coloring Book, including “No Problems” and “Summer Friends.” The group finally left the stage, but they didn’t go without grabbing a few cold Bud Lights for a toast and invited the festival attendees to take a selfie as they commemorated the festival’s 25th Anniversary.

Throughout the day, Bud Light Music was catering to fans on the north-west side of Grant Park adjacent to the Bud Light Stage. Inside, festival attendees who were 21 years and up could order Bud Lights served in the commemorative Lollapalooza cans depicting the windy city’s most whimsical cityscape that pays homage to its rich music history. Along with the cans, Bud Light partnered with local Chicago artist Floyd Davis from Artpentry to bring the can art to life through 6 different wood sculptures depicting instruments and iconic building from the city’s recognizable skyline. An MPC was fully functional along with a keytar allowing festival goers to create unique sounds while in the space all day in between sets.
