Three producers, K9, Josh Lamont and Ovalord, put their best beats on the table during the first round, but only two, Josh Manont and Ovalord, were chosen to advance to the next phase, where they would battle it out for an unexpected four rounds. It was down to the wire, and after much deliberation from the panel of industry judges, ultimately Josh Lamont was announced the winner.
Making his way to the stage for an informative 30-minute “Tech Talk” with Charlamagne, was Platinum Super Producer Jahlil Beats, who gave fans the run down on how he created some of his most notible tracks such as Bobby Shmurda‘s “Hot Ni**a.” Jahlil also discussed why he wouldn’t sample music on his beats and why producers looking to make money shouldn’t as well.
