Grammy-nominated hip-hop & R&B superstar, and Los Angeles’ own, TY DOLLA $IGN, along with THMVMNT & Power 106, proudly announce the first inaugural “Dolla Day” featuring Ty Dolla $ign & Friends. The event, powered by Hip Hop Caucus, Revolve Impact and NextGen Climate, will take place on September 25th at The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles with a special Respect My Vote! concert with Ty Dolla $ign and friends, exclusively livestreamed on TIDAL. The superstar first announced “Dolla Day” earlier this morning on Power 106. Ty Dolla $ign has partnered with global music and entertainment platform, TIDAL, to livestream the inaugural event for fans worldwide. Members and non-members alike will be able to view the concert on www.TIDAL.com/TyDollaSign.

Dolla Day” – which coincides with the release of the singer’s new project “Campaign,” out September 23rd – aims to energize young people to vote this November. “Dolla Day” will use music and art to amplify the importance of voting, driving people to pledge & register to vote online from the TIDAL concert stream as well as in person at the event. This livestream is another example of how TIDAL continues to support artists’ passions surrounding social issues, similar to recent releases from The LOX, Damian Marley, Dec.99th and more.

“’Dolla Day’ is about giving back to my fans and the city that has done so much for me. Bringing out all my friends for this one is going to be a movie!” Ty Dolla $ign said about the first inaugural “Dolla Day.” Ty is fresh off a stand-out performance with Nick Jonas at this past weekend’s MTV Video Music Awards, where he also took home his first moon man in the “Best Collaboration” category for “Work From Home,” with Fifth Harmony.

THE HIP HOP CAUCUS a national, non-profit and non-partisan organization that connects the Hip Hop community to the civic process to build power and create positive change, is the voter registration and education partner for the concert through their RESPECT MY VOTE! campaign, along with NEXTGEN CLIMATE, an environmental advocacy organization founded by businessperson and philanthropist Tom Steyer. For more information on Respect My Vote!, please visit: www.respectmyvote.com.

“By partnering with Respect My Vote! for his first inaugural ‘Dolla Day’, Ty Dolla $ign is encouraging his fans to vote and be advocates for justice and equality,” said Rev. Lennox Yearwood Jr., President and CEO of Hip Hop Caucus. “Together we are using our culture to increase civic participation, which is such a powerful method because Ty and his friends who will be joining him during the concert are some of the most influential voices among young voters in California and across the country.”

One of the key issues that will be highlighted during Dolla Day’s Respect My Vote! Concert is the school-to-prison pipeline and how voting is one critical step to achieving criminal justice reform.

“Since 1980, California has built 22 prisons but just one UC campus, and spending on jails and prisons increased three times faster than spending on K-12 schools during that same time. RESPECT MY VOTE! is about increasing peaceful activism and voting, particularly among California’s young people whose opportunities are being cut short by overspending on punishment and incarceration,” said organizer and founder of Revolve Impact Mike de la Rocha.
