Milky Chance Return With Highly Anticipated New Single “Cocoon”

One of 2014’s biggest breakthrough artists MILKY CHANCE have returned today with a brand new single entitled “Cocoon”—available at all digital retailers today via Republic Records. Check it out Here.

“Cocoon” is the first track to follow up from their highly successful debut album Sadnecessary which featured their international smash “Stolen Dance” which reached over 560 million streams online as well hit tracks “Down By The River” & “Flashed Junk Mind.”

With “Cocoon,” they have created a captivating track that combines reggae, house, flamenco, pop, folk and singer-songwriter tones. The ingenious element in their music lies exactly in this combination of the deep, organic warmth of the instrumental arrangements with Clemens Rehbeins raw, raspy voice.

MILKY CHANCE—comprised of former schoolmates Clemens Rehbein and Philipp Dausch—explains that “Cocoon” was inspired by a trying to find a period of reflection on the runaway success of their first album, Sadnecessary. As the single’s name and sound implies, it also brings forth a palpable sense of returning to a place of serenity. Or in Clemens’ own words, “trying to find a place where you can be yourself and not be distracted; to slow down and reflect on yourself.”

2014’s Sadnecessary earned ecstatic praise from People, Spin, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, Nylon, BlackBook, and more, solidifying the group as one of the year’s biggest breakout success stories. Following the release, the young German duo headlined gigs all over the world—including a sold-out UK tour which included two nights at Shepherd’s Bush Empire and three sold-out US Tours comprising more that 60 dates in total.
