wifisfuneral – When Hell Falls (Album)

The Album:
South Florida emcee wifisfuneral built a devoted fanbase online with his introspective and preternaturally wise brand of cerebral Hip-Hop. Exploring the darkest corners of his soul over eerie, minor-key instrumentals, the 19-year-old emcee levels up his lyricism on When Hell Falls. Released by wifi’s own Rich Life Records and distributed by EMPIRE, When Hell Falls finds the young rapper experimenting with double-time flows and weaving compelling personal narratives with an infectious swagger. Featuring appearances from Kembe X, Danny Towers, HenryDaher, and Yung Bans, and production from HenryDaher (who produced six of the tape’s eleven tracks), Grimm Doza, and others, the album is a worthy follow-up to last year’s more party-driven Black Heart Revenge. Highlighted by FADER-premiered relationship drama “Luv Me Never,” the gleefully introverted XXL-debuted “Antisocial Club,” and the languid confessional “Lost My Mind,” premiered by Pigeons & Planes on their Beats 1 radio show, When Hell Falls is a welcome expansion of wifisfuneral’s array of skills and an impressive document of an artist on the rise.

Explains wifi, “You can expect a lot of evolution. Black Heart Revenge was a great project, and a good little first impression but I felt like musically I was all over the place. With this project I took it back to the basics. Instead of adapting, I just did what I felt was best and was natural. This is all feel-good music, it’s all just one big vibe.”

A high school dropout of Puerto Rican descent, wifisfuneral built a sizable local following before growing it astronomically online with Black Heart Revenge. Praised by Complex as a “raw brand of turn up music meant to be played at high volumes in his hometown of Palm Beach and beyond,” Black Heart Revenge garnered millions of streams on SoundCloud and charted at #69 on the iTunes Hip-Hop Chart with virtually no promotion. In the Summer of 2016, wifisfuneral headlined his first national tour, the Black Heart Revenge Tour. With over 18 million streams and 150,000 followers across platforms, When Hell Falls will solidify the young rapper’s reputation as a burgeoning cult hero. Catch wifisfuneral on tour now with Robb Banks and at Rolling Loud 2017, alongside Kendrick Lamar, Future, Lil Wayne, and more.
