Video: Omar Kadir ‘Catch Up’ (premiere)

We’ve been following Omar Kadir (@OmarKadir) for a bit and he’s been maintaining the momentum from one of his recent hits, “Got That From You” Ft. IAMSU! Not sitting back and celebrating, he’s been hard at work and “Catch Up” reinforces why his base is growing rapidly!

With over 2.4 Million streams on Spotify to date, Omar Kadir has released his music video for his latest single “Catch Up”. Support of this record has grown from local Bay Area music influencers to a worldwide audience via Spotify, Soundcloud, and YouTube. Though the tempo of the song is a smooth and calming R&B flow, Omar makes sure to keep the pace going with some amazing dance moves. Check out the video below and stream it on Spotify!

 

1. Who directed the video?

2. What’s the inspiration for the video?
I always wanted to do a video that told a story in reverse, and my director came up with one that included a dance twist to it, and being that I come from a dance background I was more than excited to do it.
3. What else are you planning for 2017?
I’m working on getting on the road to perform so I can see more of my fans in person. I have 15-20 songs right now that I’m working on and a bunch of stuff finished and ready to drop. More than enough for a whole album, but I rather just start releasing them one at a time every couple weeks so that each song gets its own time in the spotlight.  I dedicate a lot of time into my music and I don’t want any of them to feel like album fillers. I’m also setting a goal to release a new music video once every month. It’ll take a lot of work but I think we can do it.
