Mickie Charette “U Poppin”

With the weather breaking and the streets getting filled with fun, it’s only natural that the club is popping again. With the increase in traffic it was time for a new club banger. Emerging artist Mickie Charette has released her single entitled, “U Poppin” and when I tell you she did that, trust! She did that. “U Poppin” is a track that lets you know what it is to walk on the scene and take it by storm.

Taking the time to know Mickie Charette, she advised she was “born in Germany, raised in Kentucky, and got grown in the A! (Atlanta).” Ey Now! LoL. Mickie Charette defines herself as a hybrid and defines it as “one who thinks on both sides of the brain…so I’m both creative and business minded.” She better say that. Okay, back to her.

A woman of education, Mickie Charette has 3 degrees: Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media Arts from Clark Atlanta University, Master of Science in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Morris Brown College. She is educated BOOTZ!!!

Being a woman of astor caliber, I asked Mickie Charette to give me a quote that sums her up and she stated,

“I’ve always dreamt of being a singer since I was 6 years old. I chose to move to Atlanta to pursue my career by learning the business side first before jumping into the creative side. Some music execs will tell you that you can’t do both (operating on the creative and business side). I don’t like the word ‘can’t’ but I prefer to insert the word ‘challenging.’ Just look at the industry now, people are winning Grammy’s without record deals. Indie artists are now creating their own labels and booking tours overseas. If everyone got stuck at ‘can’t’ where would we be?”
