Welcome back, lover – we missed you! Spring Festival Calendar for Austin, Texas

You know spring has sprung when every Austin, Texas weekend through the month of June brags a new music festival or two.

With barely a moment to catch your breath after the debauchery of SXSW, April rolls full-steam into festival after festival, covering every corner of music styles, and arts and entertainment for everyone.

Here’s what’s in store for April, 2017:

Austin Urban Music Festival: March 31 – 4/1
Now in its 12th year, Austin’s annual two-day outdoor festival featuring top R&B, Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Gospel music set on the beautiful hillside in downtown Austin, Texas. This year’s headliners feature Tony! Toni! Tone!, MC Lyte, and Keith Sweat.

Euphoria Fest: April 6-9
Since 2012, Euphoria Fest has offered up a fully-rounded experience of music, arts, culture, and camping featuring the top EDM, dance, Indie, and hip-hop artists today. The four-day festival takes place at Austin’s gorgeous Carson Creek Ranch set outside the city on the banks of the Colorado River. This year’s line-up includes Wiz Khalifa, Chromeo, Alesso, Pretty Lights Live, Young Thug, Moby, Zeds Dead, Post Malone, and more. Tickets are still available here.




Maverick Music Festival: San Antonio, TX April 7-8

Downtown San Antonio offers a stunning backdrop for the family oriented, Indie music festival. Although smaller and more intimate, the outdoor festival which is held at La Villita Historic Arts Village on the Riverwalk is certainly not lacking an iota of punch. This year’s artists include Young The Giant, Bastille, De La Soul, The Naked and Famous, Minus the Bear, and more. Get tix here.

Austin Reggae Fest: April  14-16
This three-day, outdoor festival overlooks Austin’s Auditorium Shores and features the best in Reggae and dub music, food, and arts. Added bonus – ticket sales benefit Austin’s Central Texas Food Bank which has provided food and nourishment to hungry families throughout Central Texas for the past decade. This year’s lineup includes Tarrus Riley with Dean Fraser and the Blak Soil BandJesse RoyalAkae Beka, and more; get your tickets here.




Moontower Comedy Festival: April 19-22

Need a music break? Moontowner has the comedy solution with shows and events at various theaters and venues through April 22. Old Settler’s Music Festival: Driftwood, TX April 20-23
Want something a little more laid-back for the family? Take a ride out to the Salt Lick Pavilion in Driftwood, Texas for the best in outdoor experiences, featuring the best in Country, Americana, Gospel and Roots music for over 30 years. The unique outdoor experience offers everything from four stages of music and camping to youth competitions, arts and crafts, food, story-telling, vendors, and workshops set in the beautiful hill country. Austin Food + Wine Festival: April 28-30, 2017

Get your eat on at downtown’s Auditorium Shores – a multi-celebration of food and wine from some of the top chefs, restaurants and wine experts. The four-day festival features a showcase of events including Feast Under The Stars, Lone Star Nights, Fire Pits, Chef Showcase, and Rock Your Taco. Find more info and event tickets here.

Fortress Festival: Fort Worth, TX April 29-30
Fort Worth, Texas Cultural District, in partnership with the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, is hosting this debut, two-day festival featuring two stages of  hip-hop, electronic, indie and rock music, vendors, merchants, and artists including Run The JewelsPurity RingPeter Hook & the Light, Wolf ParadeStranger Things composers SURVIVE, So So Topic, and Austin’s own Golden Dawn Arkestra, and many more. Coming in May, 2017:

JMBLYA: Dallas, May 5 and Austin, May 6
Chance the Rapper returns to headline a second time at ScoreMore‘s JMBLYA music festival along with performers Steve Ioki, Gucci Mane, Migos, Lil Uzi Vert, 6Lack, Young Dolph, Snow tha Product, and more. Now in it’s fifth year, JMBLYA’s two-city music festival opens Fair Park in Dallas on Friday, May 5th, and heads into its second day in Austin on Saturday, May 6th. Last year’s shows pulled in a crowd of over 32,000 fans and promises to break that number this year. GA and VIP tickets are still available here.
