Domo Genesis Red Corolla

Domo Genesis presents his heavily-awaited album, Red Corolla.  The mix-tape follows his blueprint of studio album Genesis.  The MC has been relatively quiet with only a few rare performances amidst the second-coming of the 10-track LP.   Presented as an elusive tape deck, Domo Genesis the Inglewood, California, Odd Future rapper, spits kinetic flows into a mellow beat grid.

On the title track, Red Corolla, Genesis rhymes, “No longer focused on broken ways/ All I know is the only way is to get loaded paid/ But funny how the changes turn page when the dough exchange/ Got me trying to float away/ Back to Red Corolla days/ Back when we used to have to scrape the door to blaze/ Before the game showed us things we had moments made/ Before this shit got insane.

The melancholy vibrations from “Vintage Doms” accompany Domo Genesis streamline rhythmic lyrics.  The first release of the mix-tape album was a track entitled, “Deez Nuts.”  In “Overthinking” Styles P pairs with the emcee for a lyrical smoke session with intense verbal revelations.  The elevation of Domo Genesis rhymes have a cerebral calmness.  Although he may have an odd future, it is bright.

Odd Future’s Left Brain remained akin to produce multiple tracks on the album, including the title track.  While features include Styles P, King Chip.  Hi-Tek brings back the nostalgia of boom bap rap.  In 2009 Genesis joined the super group Odd Future powered by Tyler the Creator and hype man Earl Sweatshirt.  Genesis debut mix-tape titled Rolling Papers released in 2010.  Most closely associated to Hodgy Beats and Left Brain, the trio banded together to create group, MellowHigh, completing an album in 2013 titled MellowHype.
