Meet super producer Edrick Miles as he steps center stage for artist debut
Edrick Miles is a new find for us however, he’s not new to the music biz. Miles has added his touch to music industry stalwarts like Trey Songz, Ty Dolla $ign and the list goes on. If there was ever a story of inspiration within this music community of our, Miles is one of them…
The Hype Magazine had the opportunity to get Miles to weigh in on a few things including his debut joint as an artist, “New Clothes.”
From the outside looking in, who the artist version of celebrated songwriter Edrick Miles?
The artist Edrick Miles is an extension of the Songwriter Edrick Miles. It’s the same mind but a deeper unveiling truth of the life of Edrick Miles.
What brought you to the entertainment industry, music specifically?
My Dad being a DJ and my family being heavily into music in church.
What do you mean with the lyrics of “New Clothes”? It’s more than an eye candy song.
“New Clothes” is a symbolic way of comparing a woman to clothes. The Idea of being an “Item” is me creating the idea of being a couple, while also bringing a sensual flare by introducing the idea of a physical encounter as well. Never wanting to pull her off and showing her off is two ways of me showing a woman that I can put it down in the bed and for her in the street as well. When a person has new clothes on they feel new as well. You know the saying “aint nothing like some new new” lol.
Tell us about your current project and what’s up for the second half of 2017.
A project is being created as we speak we don’t have a release date yet. Just expect it to be something worthwhile.
Since this is your debut, and we are all new listeners to you as an artist, what kind of a musical journey does this promise as you release more music?
I have tons of music with no boundaries in play. I’m willing to explore while also grow with my fans and reveal my truths with pure transparency.
Tell us a bit about your work and passions OUTSIDE of music…
I have a true love for fitness and reading. I one day want to put my writing skills to work outside of music.
Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!”
I remember going to a strip on club in Charlotte NC where they had a all out breakfast buffet. They had french toast biscuits eggs bacon etc. Joint tasted better than IHOP! Made me be like “where they do that at” foreal.
