Live Session with Truth-Sayer Sy Ari Da Kid

It’s a heavy trip navigating the maze that is the entertainment industry and Sy Ari Da Kid has made his moves with style and class all the while celebrating the pillars of Hip Hop. I think one could agree, if you are familiar, that one of his dopest traits is his willingness to go left with it, kinda like Big L whom he quotes as an influence as he was coming up.

Sy Ari Da Kid (Artist Submitted)

The Hype Magazine caught up with the full time father who has an old school outlook on how that works and adjusted his entrepreneurial life to fit that…not the other way around. In our conversation he explained how he brought his world home and even with a young one running around he gets his work in. Working from home isn’t easy so I’d say his focus on making his family a daily part of his life is an admirable commitment. We covered his latest project “2 Weeks, No Diss,” whose title is an exceptional play on words as it addresses misconceptions about one of his videos and its characters One of the highlights of our conversation was his description of just HOW he began to be honest and authentic in his music, for himself AND his audience. Tune In:

Sy Ari Da Kid recently had his calendar get a bit more crowded as Atlanta artist 6LACK, known for his single “PRBLMS” announced that he would be going on a 30+ city tour and taking Sy Ari Da Kid and Sabrina Claudio with him on the Free6lack Tour. Get the full list of dates and tickets here

Sy who is also based in Atlanta just dropped his “2 Weeks, No Diss,” project which was trending in Atlanta over the weekend. Fan favorites off the project included “Took,” “Traded,” feat. K. Camp and “Made,” featuring Birdman. His video for “Made” drops this week. He hit LA last week for a press run that included interviews at REVOLT TV, Power 106.1 FM, All Def Digital and the XXL Radio Show all while spending the day with COMPLEX as they followed him and interviewed him for the “A Day in The Life Of…” documentary.

2 Weeks No Diss is a 15 joint straight ride through and the repeat…perfectly laid out and delivered with a nod to elements that have gotten muddled or lost in Hip Hop. 5/5 for me ~ JD

Catch Sy Ari Da Kid live when the tour kicks off October 7th in San Diego Tickets went on sale August 24th at midnight. For more information visit free6lack.com/tour.
