Independent production company DeInstitutionalized, LLC and Archstone Distribution have signed a deal to co-produce a slate of films, which Archstone will then release, starting in early 2016.

“A strategic partnership with the Archstone group of companies just makes sense for us,” Christopher Ray and Gerald Webb of DeInstitutionalized told THR in a joint statement. “The combination of their infrastructure, long standing reputation and relationships allow for perfect positioning of our wide range of films on both the domestic and global markets.”

DeInstitutionalized launched at AFM this year with “Minutes to Midnight”, a horror film directed by Chris Ray which stars William Baldwin and Richard Grieco. The plot is as follows: “On the cusp of New Year’s Eve, seven friends and a mysterious backpacker converge at a desolate ski lodge in the mountains when they are systematically hunted down by ruthless masked men with a cryptic agenda.”

Chris Ray, son of legendary B-Movie director Fred Olen Ray, has been involved in the film world since he was an infant. He is probably best known for his shark themed SyFy films, the most recent of which, “Three Headed Shark Attack”, can be seen on Netflix. The film stars Danny Trejo.

Gerald Webb is an actor and producer who has been involved with all three “Sharknado” films. It’s also worth noting that he is Jam Master Jay‘s protégé. Webb starred alongside Bill Cobbs in another recent film from DeInstitutionalized, “A House Is Not A Home”. Directed by Chris Ray, “A House Is Not A Home” won Best Feature Film at the Burbank International Film Festival in 2013.

DeInstitutionalized, LLC is based out of Burbank, California.
