ECHOSMITH FEATURED AS MTV “ARTIST TO WATCH”

“COOL KIDS” BREAKS THROUGH AT TOP 40 AND HOT AC RADIO

Alt-pop breakout band Echosmith are MTV’s latest “Artist to Watch,” joining the ranks of artists like HAIM and Lorde to be featured as such. MTV describes Echosmith’s music as “songs that feel lightweight and summery, the ideal indie pop jams for when you’re cruising around without a care in the world, or getting ready to go out with your friends.” The campaign launched this week and continues on-air and online through July 13th. You can read the full feature on Echosmith here, as well as watch their exclusive performances for MTV below.

Echosmith’s hit single “Cool Kids”, from debut album Talking Dreams released last fall via Warner Bros. Records, continues to grow and gain momentum, just this week breaking into Top 40 radio airplay and currently holding the #36 spot for most spins, while at Hot AC it currently sits at #34* and will officially impact on Monday. The video for “Cool Kids” is approaching 2 million views on YouTube, and the LA siblings also made their late night debut performing the song last month on Conan.

2014 has yet to slow down for Echosmith. Most recently, they were featured on the fourth season of MTV’s hit series Awkward, having their music showcased throughout and culminating with the band at the centerpiece of a storyline. Echosmith is also currently in the middle of their second run on Warped Tour, this time as one of the most anticipated acts of the tour. Alternative Press featured Sydney on the cover of their Warped Tour issue, while major local outlets like Portland Tribune and San Francisco Examiner have all highlighted the band as a “must-see act.” A full list of upcoming tour dates is below.

The Sierota siblings – Jamie (vocals/guitar), Sydney (vocals/keyboard), Noah (vocals/bass), and Graham (drums) – grew up in a musical household and shared a love for playing instruments and listening to bands as varied as Coldplay, The Smiths, and Fleetwood Mac. Those influences have yielded the melody-minded, New Wave-influenced sound of Talking Dreams, which was produced by Mike Elizondo (Tegan & Sara, Regina Spektor) and has earned rave reviews, with Nylon warning, “HAIM might be front and center in terms of the whole ‘family band’ category, but these sisters better watch out because there’s another crew of California siblings about to take over.”
