Live Session: Rashia Whitlock

Indianapolis, Indiana native Rashia Whitlock has been acting since very early and turned “professional” as part of the Asante Children’s Theatre at the age of 15. Well, Rashia has come a long way since Asante with appearances in Quentin Tarantino’s Django, HBO’s Tremé and ABC’s Starcrossed to name a short list. Whitlock will grace the silver screen in January 2015 in her new role as one of the cool/mean kids in the feature film Project Almanac which stars Jonny Weston and Amy Landecker.

The Hype Magazine got to spend some time with Rashia during a “Live Session” where she shared her acting experiences and highlights like her on-set mentoring session with the talented Kerry Washington, who saluted the fact Rashia was a full-time college student while filming her part for Dango. I have to admit, I could have talked to her for hours…she’s not your standard issue actress.
