UK electronic quartet Clean Bandit sets 2015 North American ‘New Eyes’ tour beginning March 13th

Big Beat/Atlantic Records recording group Clean Bandit released a special edition of their breakthrough debut album, “NEW EYES” featuring three previously unavailable tracks, including the latest with Jess Glynne, “Real Love”, which received acclaim from SPIN, which noted that the “disco-infused” track “(seems) destined for the same level of success as came (the UK-based group’s worldwide #1 smash) ‘Rather Be (Feat. Jess Glynne).'” The companion video — filmed at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre under the direction of Clean Bandit’s own Jack Patterson — is streaming now on the band’s official YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdo_-U4PEsk.

The updated “NEW EYES” — now includes “Stronger” and an electrifying cover of Robin S’s 1990 house classic, “Show Me Love” — heralds Clean Bandit’s just announced 2015 North American ‘New Eyes’ Tour. The tour begins March 13th at The Masquerade in Atlanta and continues through mid-April (see attached itinerary). Additional North American dates will be unveiled soon. Fueled by the RIAA platinum certified and Billboard Dance/Electronic #1 single, “Rather Be (Feat. Jess Glynne),” “NEW EYES” debuted at #3 on the UK Albums chart upon its original release earlier this year, and held steadfast at #1 on the US iTunes Store’s “Top Dance Albums” for over two months. The album – further highlighted by singles like “Extraordinary,” “Mozart’s House,” “Dust Clears,” and “Come Over,” — sees Clean Bandit pushing the creative envelope with their distinctively baroque sonic approach, accompanied by an assortment of rising vocaists, including Stylo G, Rae Morris, Eliza Shaddad, Love Ssega (Crystal Fighters), and alternative hip-hop sensation Lizzo.

“NEW EYES” has reaped a wide range of critical acclaim, with Q hailing it as a “triumphant reaffirmation of UK dance music’s mass appeal.” “A fantastically fun record,” decreed MusicOMH. “It’s laser-guided music… the beats are powerful, the earworms infectious… (Clean Bandit may be) the heralds of super-duper/boogietacular parties across the summer.” “Warm, inviting and frequently very catchy,” noted Time Out. “A thoroughly enjoyable listen.”

Clean Bandit united in 2008, comprising brothers Jack Patterson (bass, keyboards) and Luke Patterson (drums), alongside Grace Chatto (cello) and Neil Amin-Smith (violin). United by a shared passion for fusing diverse forms of music, the Cambridge-based band quickly earned attention for their immediately compelling conglomeration of visionary electronica, deep house, classical, garage, R&B, and more.

“Rather Be (Feat. Jess Glynne)” debuted atop the UK Singles Chart upon its initial release earlier this year, going on to spend four consecutive weeks at #1 — the first single by a British artist to hold the position that long since Adele’s 2011 blockbuster “Someone Like You.” The track — which shattered a variety of long held records, including the most one-week plays ever at Spotify and the most one-week Shazams at Shazam.com — has since entered the record books as the longest running #1 in the history of the UK’s Official Streaming Chart, dominating the top spot for eight straight weeks. The track’s unprecedented success bests previous record holders, each boasting seven weeks at #1, including Avicii’s “Wake Me Up,” Bastille’s “Pompeii,” and Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky (Feat. Pharrell Williams).”

A Spotify #1 in more than 13 countries, “Rather Be (Feat. Jess Glynne)” is a planetary sensation, earning RIAA platinum for US sales in excess of 1 million while also receiving multiple gold, platinum, and multi-platinum certifications around the world. Moreover, the track topped Billboard’s “Euro Digital Songs” ranking, as well as dance and pop/top 40 charts in Australia, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Israel, Luxembourg, Sweden, and the Netherlands. As if all that weren’t enough, the equally undeniable “Rather Be” companion video is now exceeding a remarkable 150 million individual views at Clean Bandit’s official YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/cleanbandit.

Along with its astounding popular appeal, critical acclaim also greeted “Rather Be,” with The Guardian declaring it to be “a supremely addictive slice of club/chart white noise, with a spartan garage intro/verse and an exuberant chorus that is a total dance-pop delight,” further praising the track’s indelible strings, “courtesy not of a sampler or some hired hands but the band themselves.” “Co-penned with Disclosure hitmaker Jimmy Napes, ‘Rather Be’ blends classical-inspired violin with uplifting house beats,” noted Digital Spy. “The result is an infectious sound that feels fresh and exciting – and it couldn’t have arrived at a better time.” “We thought they were good with their quirky classical/electronic/rap venture ‘Mozart’s House’ last year,” wrote Contact Music, “but this new track really shows that Clean Bandit are serious… Like all the best number ones, it has a simple melody that won’t escape from your head too quickly… Jess Glynne’s pipes (are) at the son g’s centerpiece, truly giving the likes of Rihanna a run for her money… Uniquely brilliant.”

Known for being as scintillating on stage as they are in the studio, Clean Bandit made their US live debut this summer with sold out concerts in Los Angeles and Brooklyn, both presented in partnership with Spotify. A North American headline tour followed, including sold out shows in an array of major markets. As if that weren’t enough, the band also appeared on US TV for the first time, rocking NBC’s TODAY with a live rendition of “Rather Be (Feat. Jess Glynne)” (www.today.com/video/today/55650191#55650191). Since then, the band has performed the single on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! (www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXRnV5bt0wg), ABC’s Good Morning America (http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/clean-bandit-performs-live-25569286), as well as CBS’ The Talk (www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5KgEynzwWc).
