It was actually her featured vocals on Lupe Fiasco’s 2008 single “Hip Hop Saved My Life”, from his 2nd album “The Cool,” which first introduced Nikki Jean, nee Leary, to the masses. Then, in 2011 the St. Paul, Minnesota, singer-songwriter-actress inked her very own recording contract with indie label, S-Curve Records, before unleashing her criminally slept-on solo debut, “Pennies in a Jar.” Jean’s latest entry, “Champagne Water EP,” features high profile collabos with Ab-Soul, Kevin olusola [Pentatonix], with production courtesy of Donnie Trumpet, Nate fox, Peter Cottontale, Like [Pac Div] and double-0.
