Classical musician Adam Reifstek launches Electronic Dance Music label

New Record Label on a Mission to Help Genre-bending EDM Artists Release Cutting-edge Music

American composer and producer Adam Reifsteck, better known for his work in New York’s classical music scene, has announced the launch of his record label Teknofonic Recordings with the goal of helping other genre-bending artists reach new audiences.

The label will begin its release schedule this May with the release of not only Reifsteck’s music under his studio alias Sonic Fear, but with a release from Emmy award-nominated composer Steve Sandberg, aka Elastic Plastic Generation, whose music has been heard on the hit Nick, Jr. show “Dora the Explorer.”

“It’s a new concept for what a record label can be,” says Reifsteck. “We see similarities in both the classical and the electronic dance music communities where a growing number of artists are refusing to accept the mindset of aligning themselves with specific genres of music and social norms. Listeners’ musical tastes have greatly evolved in this digital age and audiences are now demanding more adventurous styles of music. Teknofonic Recordings will be a forward-thinking label that will help artists harness that synergy to create a new breed of music for the 21st century. Together, we will create a space for the genre-defying sounds that fall outside the mainstream.”

With Reifsteck at the helm of this nontraditional label, Teknofonic Recordings will insist that the artists signed to its imprint retain 100% ownership of his or her own music. The label will also assist its artists with marketing and promotion and provide discounted rates on mixing and mastering services and free career consultations.

Sonic Fear’s Horizon EP will be released worldwide on May 12 and followed up by the release of the Absolute Power EP on June 2, with a Beatport exclusive on May 19. Elastic Plastic Generation’s debut EP Just the Tip will release on June 23 with a Beatport exclusive on June 9. Everyone can preview these upcoming releases on Teknofonic Recordings’ Soundcloud page at www.soundcloud.com/teknofonic. The label is actively seeking artists for roster consideration. Interested artists are encouraged to visit www.teknofonic.com for more information.
