The West Coast introduces new artist Amiel Divine Representing Los Angeles And Fresno, Ca with the release of his single, “West Coast Livin” produced by singer/songwriter and producer KP. When asked about the track, the rising star responded saying; “This song represents me being born and raised in California and the struggles I’ve been and still go through in day-to-day life as a young man. Tell us how YOU see Amiel Divine the artist.
I see Amiel Divine the Artist as the voice for the voiceless. One that is, constantly striving to better himself and the masses. Always uplifting others and creating a positive light in every situation.
What brought you to the entertainment industry, music specifically?
Well I’ve always been around music my entire life my dad has been in the music industry on the business side before I was even born and my mom was background dancing for big artist when she was young. Both sides of my family are extremely musically talented so growing up I listened to a lot of different genres ranging from Gangster Rap, RnB, and Conscious music also Oldies, Jazz, Country and Rock
What do you want people get from your music?
I want the people to get that what I say in my music is genuine and from the soul. Those are my true feelings, flaws, and views on life they may not necessarily be right all the time which I can admit. I want them to get that I’m human too constantly learning through trial and error.
Tell us about your current project and your ApolloNightLA Artist of the Week winning joint “West Coast Livin”?
My Current Project I’m working on is actually my first project title “Divine Assignment Ep” which will be dropping this fall. It is an introduction to who I am while showing my versatility as an artist bringing a fresh new sound of West Coast Hip-Hop. And “West Coast Livin” Ft Katie Heart is a song that shares my experience growing up in California while paying homage to the greats that are the face of West Coast Rap.
What has been your greatest professional achievement so far?
I would have to say my greatest achievements so far are the shows with YG, Too Short, Mac Lucci, Compton AV Etc… And the Global California College Tour that I did this year also being a featured artist on MTV, The Cypher Effect, Apollo Night LA, Power 106 who’s Next? Trending Artist and also the Boi-1da Write up, Dj Carisma write up, Overtime Hustlin Magazine, J.Cole’s Dreamville Shout Out and now The Hype Magazine.
For new listeners, what song of yours would you pick as an introduction to you?
My song of choice would have to be “West Coast Livin” because I’m giving insight on where I’m from and what I’m about.
Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” moment…
It’s funny that you asked this because I had a business meeting which required me to wear dressy attire like 2 weeks ago and I was rushing and I forgot the most critical thing which was my belt and the pants were big on me and I didn’t have one in my car so I had to think of something so I took the auxiliary core from my car and turned it into a belt.
