Transviolet’s Debut EP Is Out Now, Tour With Mikky Ekko This Fall

The self-titled debut EP from Transviolet is out now and can be purchased HERE. See below for track listing. “New Bohemia,” the EP’s anthemic first single, can be streamed HERE. Neon Gold observed, “Transviolet return with a splash…after turning all kinds of heads with their knockout one-two punch debuts ‘Girls Your Age’ and ‘Bloodstream’… ‘New Bohemia’ feels like the second coming of a new world order as sky-scraping vocals and star-slinging synths collide above.”

Founded in New York and now based in Los Angeles, the four-piece band released its first song, “Girls Your Age,” in July 2015. The startling frank coming-of-age track, which is included on the EP, rocketed to No. 1 on Hype Machine’s main chart, No. 2 on the U.S. Spotify viral chart and No. 3 on the Global Spotify viral chart and now has nearly 900,000 Spotify streams.

Transviolet will play its very first show on September 29 at Neon Gold’s Popshop West at The Echo, located in their adopted hometown of Los Angeles. The line-up for the sold-out show includes Alina Baraz & Galimatias and Farao. Transviolet will join Mikky Ekko on his fall North American tour, which kicks off on October 1 at Los Angeles’ Roxy Theatre and includes a show at Rough Trade in Brooklyn on October 20. After the tour wraps, the band will head to London for a pair of dates. See below for itinerary. Tickets can be purchased¬†HERE.

¬†Noisey praised “Girls Your Age” as “spaciously sexy,” noting, “With the song coming in somewhere between the knowingness of Lana and the lilt of Lorde, its insta-appeal is clear.” Katy Perry shared it as her Song of the Day on Twitter and Harry Styles tweeted a line from the track. Transviolet has earned praise from numerous other artists, including Lorde, Ellie Goulding and Twin Shadow. “Twin Shadow’s remix of ‘Girls Your Age’ speeds up the track with an urgency that mirrors the chaos of coming of age,” said Stereogum.” The original version and the remix of “Girls Your Age” can be streamed HERE and the official video can be viewed HERE.

“Bloodstream,” another track off the EP, premiered as a World Record on Zane Lowe’s “Beats 1” show and spent two weeks in the Top 15 of the U.S. Spotify viral chart. It now has nearly 400,000 streams on Spotify.

“When I first listened to ‘Girls Your Age’ by Transviolet, I Immediately knew I’d heard something special. My first thoughts were completely reinforced when I heart ‘Bloodstream’…This dancey, electro-pop track builds to a chorus that feels radio ready,” said Kick Kick Snare while The Line of Best Fit observed, “Transviolet redefine epic with dance-infused pop belter ‘Bloodstream.'” “Get familiar with these guys. We’re expecting big things from them this year,”urged All Things Go.
