Angela Yee is frequently on the ground floor with tomorrow’s rap superstars, so the fact that she’s been tracking the career of Philadelphia emcee WarChyld means we should probably all be paying attention.
The Breakfast Club host sat down with WarChyld at a very crowded Manhattan cafe to talk about his upcoming mini-documentary Price of Fame — and when he says mini, he means it. “It’s just five minutes [long], because people have a short attention span,” he explains. “It’s basically about my life, my struggles in life, facing death… things I’ve been through and where I am now in my music career.”

WarChyld plans to offer his fans a sneak peek at what it takes to get on the music industry’s radar. “As an independent artist… you don’t have a budget. You’re doing everything you can to try to make it,” he says. “I just be grinding, giving it my all. … It’s really that simple.”
His three key pieces of advice for those looking to make a name for themselves in the rap game? “You have to stay consistent, believe in yourself and keep trying.”
