New Release from The All-American Rejects “There’s A Place”

The All-American Rejects return today with a new song, “There’s A Place,” which was written while the band’s singer Tyson Ritter was in London shooting the feature film Miss You Already, directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight, Thirteen). “There’s A Place” can be heard in the trailer for the film. Its accompanying video, directed by Hardwicke with a cameo from Toni Collette, premieres on Vevo today. Watch it here. “There’s A Place” is available now for digital download and streaming via digital subscription services. Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate will release Miss You Already in theaters nationwide on Friday, November 6th.

Miss You Already is an honest and powerful story following two best friends, Milly (Toni Collette) and Jess (Drew Barrymore), as they navigate life’s highs and lows. Inseparable since they were young girls, they can’t remember a time they didn’t share everything — secrets, clothes, even boyfriends — but nothing prepares them for the day Milly is hit with life-altering news. A story for every modern woman, Miss You Already celebrates the bond of true friendship that ultimately can never be broken, even in life’s toughest moments.

“The production put me up in a quaint but isolated flat in West Kensington, and I had nothing but a ukulele to keep me busy when I wasn’t on set,” Ritter says of his time shooting Miss You Already. “My first day of work I met Toni and watched her playing Milly, a wife and a mother of two, who had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. As heavy of a subject that is to discuss, let alone portray, I was immediately awestruck by Toni’s bravery. After my first day on set, I had this ringing in my ear. Having not composed a piece of music for over a year at that point, I didn’t recognize that I was hearing a melody. With that melody, came the words. Immediately I knew what it was, it was a song for Milly, a song that was written as a goodbye note to her loved ones. ‘There’s A Place’ is something I’m very proud of as it came from the purest center of myself. As soon as I finished the demo, I sent it to Catherine and she was into it, and as simple as that, it was in the movie.”

Since forming in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1999, The All-American Rejects have released four studio albums: their platinum self-titled debut, featuring the breakthrough hit “Swing Swing,” followed by 2005’s double-platinum Move Along, which spawned the Top 10 hits “It Ends Tonight,” “Dirty Little Secret,” and “Move Along,” and the gold-certified When The World Comes Down, featuring the four-million seller “Gives You Hell,” and 2012’s Kids In The Street. The band, which also includes guitarist Nick Wheeler, rhythm guitarist Mike Kennerty, and drummer Chris Gaylor, have sold more than four million albums and 16 million singles worldwide. They are currently writing songs for their new album and will be revealing more info soon.
