With callers from as far away as Jamaica, ApolloNightLA is one of the hottest platforms in the business. Show creator and Co-host Karen Simms, has established a major platform, celebrating the unsigned music creators of from ALL genres. One of their previous “Artist of the Week” winners hailed all the way from Germany! That’s reach!

From the outside looking in, SiRr Xecellence is the true definition of Hip Hop! You can tell SiRr Xecellence is down to earth and humble. He is an‘Average Joe’. You can tell that he is dedicated and hardworking. That his Grind is REAL. And that nothing is possible without God !!
What brought you to the entertainment industry, music specifically?
My Love for People brought me to the entertainment industry. Being able to reach the masses and spread a message. Specifically, I feel music has an affect over a persons life. Whether it is negative or positive. Back in the day we used music like medicine to help cope with things like slavery, war, and the great depression. Growing up SiRr Xecellence seen Hip Hop deteriorate. “I knew something was wrong with Hip Hop! No wait, they just need a SiRr Xecellence Stamp.” My music is Real so I feel like the ‘Average Joe’ can relate to me.
Tell us about your current project and your ApolloNightLA “Artist of the Week” winning single “Oh Yah”.
“Oh Yah” was an inspired track. S/O to Bruiser who did the track with me. I looked up to him growing up just like I look up to Michael Jackson and E-40.Although, he was an unsigned artist I always wanted to work with him. So I had to reach out and link up.
My current project in the making is a Track called “Famou$“. I named the track “Famou$” because I believe every person is already famous you just have to embrace it. The song motivates a person to believe in yourself. “Famou$” is going to let the world know that it really is #ReaLB4Rap with SiRr Xecellence.
For new listeners, what song of yours would you pick as an introduction to you?
For new listeners I choose “Oh Yah” as an introduction. The song selection was careful and made with Love. “Oh Yah” showcases unsigned/undiscovered artists. SiRr Xecellence puts on for the team (KCMO). “Oh Yah” has an all around good vibe to it. From the beat selection to the well thought out lyrics. I feel like it shows a more soulful side of SiRr Xecellence. Displaying that you can Rap about more than just drugs, money, and sex. Or without using explicit language.
Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” moment…
