Who is Pimptress?
Pimptress Is a North American rapper, songwriter, and singer. Hailing from Clearwater, Florida she started rapping at the young age of 13, at 17 Pimptress was already apart of a rap group on and off for years. In 2008 Pimptress took a new direction and went totally solo, performing at some of Tampa Bay’s biggest night clubs and opening for Various Major Artist. Currently she is still performing all over Florida and other states. Pimptress is now working on her mixtape titled “Epic Journey”and also putting together a documentary. Also she has a 6 week tour in Europe coming up at the end of the summer. Her new single “How To Get It” is about to hit radio anyday. Pimptress said, ” I am pretty much reintroducing myself to the world but bigger and better this time and I’m looking forward to success”.

I’m a female artist, singer, rapper and songwriter from Clearwater, Florida
Who has been your greatest inspirations musically and why?
Patti Labelle, I grew up listening to her and alot of her music is very inspirational and uplifting. Her voice alone gives me life! Next I’d have to say Lauryn Hill, because she changed the game for females in the music industry, and her album “Miseducation” phenomenal, it’s timeless. I can put her album in right now and I wouldn’t skip past any tracks! Brandy is another artist that inspired me, I idolized Brandy growing up, and the late Aaliyah I loved her style, her music was so real but so pure, so sweet but yet you could still dance to her records. Last but not least is Tupac, although he is no longer living, he was and will always in my opinion be the best rapper to ever do all that he has done!
What do you feel you offer to the music industry that we don’t already have in performers?
Well first off, I’m a female singer/rapper/songwriter. I can sing & spit rhymes, but most importantly everything I speak about is real, meaning I’ve been through what I’m speaking about in real life! I don’t just say it because it rhymes “LOL”! Also I have my own style, although there are other female MC‘s out that sing as well. I don’t sound like them and they don’t sound like me.
When can we expect some new music from you?
My mixtape “Epic Journey” is set for release and will be hitting the streets hard @ the end of the summer, but right now I’m pushing my hot new single ” How 2 Get It” clubs, DJ’s and dancers are gonna eat this record up I swear. It’s already being requested and played in some of Tampa Bays hottest night clubs. The big news is it will be hitting Wild 94.1 radio stations within the next week. Shout Out to DJ King JB for believing in me! IT’S TIME!!!
If you could collaborate with one, artist living, or dead, who would it be and why?
Hmmmm I would say Missy Elliott, she is an amazing artist all around, and she changed the game. ” Dare 2 Be Different” and yesss she was very different than any other female artist I’ve heard before her. Listening to her music made me feel like Okay; Music is really what I want to pursue! I said that at 14 years old! If I could I’d have to also add “Lil Kim” her music was so real, so gutter, so straight to the point, no chaser, just hardcore like the album. I loved her style, she set many trends. I Love “Lil Kim”. I’d love to record a song with those two female artist any day, that would be dope!
