Vh1 Star Opens Tattoo Shop in Charlotte’s South End District
Dutchess Lattimore of ‘Black Ink Crew’ to Open Pretty-n-Ink Tattoo Shop
Storied tattoo artist Dutchess Lattimore, star of the Vh1 reality show “Black Ink Crew,” opened her own custom body modification art and tattoo gallery this month. Black Ink Crew, currently in its third season, garnered over 2 million viewers per episode, making it Vh1’s third highest rated series.
Lattimore’s new tattoo shop, called Pretty-n-Ink, is open to the public on South Tryon, Suite 3H in Charlotte’s South End. The tattoo shop provides a range of piercings, tattoos and body modification services.
A private grand opening event was held Saturday, Nov. 14th. The event, will be televised by Vh1, included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tattooing, live jazz, refreshments and a meet and greet with Lattimore. Event sponsors included Norea Talent Development and Marketing Agency, Nuvo, Ciroc, Neet’s Sweets, Art by Abel, The Hype Magazine, V101.9, Creative Loafing, Metro PCS, Hole in the Wall Entertainment and Kiehl’s.
“To see my dream come to fruition has been a true blessing,” Lattimore said. “I have to thank my team for helping me every step of the way. It’s a very exciting time in my life and I look forward to sharing it with my supporters.”
With the opening of Pretty-n-Ink, Lattimore looks forward to drawing positive attention to the South End district of Charlotte. In addition she hopes to inspire other minorities to pursue their dreams.
“It’s so important to me to be an inspiration to other young women who want to be entrepreneurs,” Lattimore said. “I want to be that symbol of hope and help build and develop young minds.”
