Who is Ashley Nicole? #OfficialHype

Ashley Nicole is a singer/songwriter on a journey to bring back a 90’s r&b sound with a mixture of the new aged r&b sound. Being mentored by Jagged Edge twin’s Brian & Brandon Casey, Ashley Nicole has had much influence and inspiration to bring this sound back to life in her written words and artistry. Ashley Nicole has been seen on one of VH1’s most successful reality television shows “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.” Previously working with DLO Entertainment with rapper/vice president Rasheeda and her husband/CEO Kirk Frost, Ashley Nicole has decided to part ways and stay independent as she believes she has a better chance to influence and gain attention in a more positive light this way. Working with grammy nominated & award winning producers and songwriters such as KE on the track, Brain & Brandon Casey, Verse Simmonds, JBO, Eardrummers, Josh Butler & Dre Bennett, Ashley Nicole is destined to become the next hot artist who will make a direct impact on the urban community. The single “Girlfriend” will soon be released as Ashley Nicole is in works to create her EP named ” The Language Of A Flower.” This EP will be a piece of work put together to connect with and help her fans understand who the REAL Ashley Nicole is. Touching on all aspects of her life with “The Language Of A Flower,” Ashley Nicole will have 100% creative control of this project.

As you see your self, who is Ashley Nicole?

I can’t tell you who Ashley Nicole is now. Only the fans can tell you that. What I can tell you is who Ashley Nicole used to be. She used to be lost and hurt, and without a clear direction or sense of purpose for her life. Ashley Nicole stood for nothing, and moved with the wind in whichever direction she pleased. Without a sturdy family, no good friendships and her mother’s ashes in a box, she turned to music for a way out.

Tell us about your current project?

My current project, The Language of a Flower, will be my breakthrough EP. I will be proving that I am NOT all the things they claim I am, and the ‘Hype’ on Love and Hip Hop Atlanta wasn’t to my benefit. I will be expressing myself like a beautiful flower, and all of you can decode what it all means when you listen.

What’s happened in your career that makes you feel this is the industry for you?

That’s just it! It’s what I feel and what has happened that makes this career for me! Everyone can relate to pain, love and loss, and the way I can articulate those things lets me know I can be one of the best to ever do it.

What makes you the next great happening?

I’m not sure if I’m next in line or anything, but from the music I have already released, the thousands of people that appreciate it and the happiness making music brings to me, I know it’s only a matter of time.

Are your currently signed to a label or have any situation in the making?

I am not currently signed to a label. I plan on remaining independent for as long as possible. I have a small but effective circle, and we get things done.

Who and what are your influences?

Hmmm.. Growing up I loved listening to the voices of Mariah, Whitney, Celine, Lauryn, Toni, Brandy, Michael, Luther, Stevie…. Then I was introduced to rappers like Pac, Biggie, Puff, Foxy, Lil Kim…

What should people expect from your upcoming 2016 projects?

The Language of a Flower drops Spring 2016, I will be doing more performances, music videos and a tour maybe?

Is there anything you would like our readers to know?

Ashley Nicole fun fact: before Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, I had already dropped a mixtape called ‘Before the Bloom,’ which was about 7 or 8 songs I had recorded on my own, and that really was before the bloom! And this is why my EP is called The Language of a Flower so that I can describe what it feels like to have finally bloomed. Who said I didn’t have any songs out?!

Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” moment…

WHERE THEY DO THAT AT moment: I would have to say the time that Rasheeda ran at the car that I was in acting as if she was going to fight me but the producers had my door on CHILD LOCK! WHERE THEY DO THAT AT?! I was so mad it made me seem so weak lol.
