KING debuts #1 album

R&B trio KING lands at the top spot of this week’s Billboard Heatseeker Album Chart with their brand new debut album We Are KING. Released February 5th via their own independent label, KING Creative, the soulful Los Angeles based songstresses also charted among the impressive Top 10 of Billboard’s Independent Albums and R&B Albums and Top 20 of the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.

Tonight KING’s hometown fans will celebrate with them at their sold-out Hollywood Forever show. The We Are KING tour has sold-out every show thus far including New York, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Minneapolis and Raleigh. To accommodate their growing fanbase, the ladies will be joining SXSW next month and have added new spring tour dates to include overseas shows in the UK, Ireland and Japan..

“It’s been amazing to receive such support for our journey,” says KING. “From the beginning, we always sought out to take time to make music that was authentic to who we are, and we’re so happy to share it with the world and have our sound be received so warmly. We’re so excited to keep it going and share the positivity during our first world tour.”

Buzzworthy debut album We Are KING has already received critical acclaim with Rolling Stone “10 Artists You Need To Know,” New York Times “harmonically sophisticated R&B,” Pitchfork “rich and transformative,” SPIN, “such a lovely album,” Stereogum, “hits like a drug,” Los Angeles Times, “KING rules,” and The Boombox who heralded the album as “sure to be one of the best releases of the year.”
