Pandora presents: The ATL featuring Young Thug, K Camp and DeJ Loaf

Pandora, the go-to music source for fans and artists, invaded of hip hop’s metropolis with Pandora Presents: The ATL, an exclusive live event on May 5 delivering a lineup of buzzing talent. Inspired by the overwhelming success of The ATL: Atlanta’s Hip Hop Radio, which racked up over 130 million spins following its 2015 debut, the event was headlined by one of the station’s top artists who nets 90,000+ spins weekly, Atlanta-native Young Thug, along with performances by breakout rappers K Camp and DeJ Loaf.

Pandora Presents: The ATL  connects fans with the genre’s dynamic and pioneering style whether they’re vibing in the crowd at historic venue The Tabernacle (aka The Tabby), or bumping the livestreamed show over their earbuds.

“The hip hop audience on Pandora is enormous. Pandora Presents: The ATL creates a seamless music experience in a way that no other platform can by connecting listeners’ love of an artist or genre directly to a live experience – both in person and via livestream on Pandora,” said Lars Murray, SVP Music Makers Group, Pandora.  “Young Thug electrified our SXSW Discovery Den, so we’re amped to work with him again, and just as excited to showcase K Camp and Dej Loaf, two top-spinning artists on our ATL Hip Hop genre station.”

The event and livestream advance Pandora’s focus on helping artists grow their careers. This began with the launch of AMP in October 2014 and continued with the rollout of Artist Audio Messages in February 2015 and AMPcast in March 2016. The acquisitions of Next Big Sound and Ticketfly have helped to deepen this partnership by providing even more data to artists while making it easier to connect with fans through live events.

ABOUT YOUNG THUG

Born Jeffery Williams, The Atlanta-based MC, Young Thug first exploded onto the scene with his “I CAME FROM NOTHING” trilogy of mixtapes before joining forces with Gucci Mane’s 1017 Brick Squad Crew. His distinctive style, experimental flow, and innovative melodies, ultimately lead to a partnership with the new, cutting-edge music-based content company 300 Entertainment, where he has since released his “BARTER 6” mixtape, along with Slime Seasons 1 & 2. Young Thug has quickly proven himself amongst the most acclaimed hip-hop artists in recent memory, having graced the covers of Complex, Fader and Dazed. 2016 will find Thugga’s third and final installment of his “Slime Season” trilogy, as well as his major label debut “Hy!£UN35,” scheduled to arrive later this summer.

ABOUT K CAMP

Growing up on the Northside of Atlanta, K Camp introduced himself to the city’s scene at local open mic competitions.  He emerged from the area’s rap arena in 2008 with the party jam “All Night,” which became a hit with the college crowd. K Camp used mixtapes and live shows to build a strong fan base and later landed a deal with Family Ties/Interscope Records. His debut EP In Due Time produced two hit singles, “Money Baby” and “Cut Her Off.”  The fearlessly honest rapper known for his laidback flow climbed the ranks as one of hip-hop’s emerging stars. K Camp was named to XXL’s 2015 Freshman Class, was dubbed “a ‘Cut’ above the rest” by USA Today and was one of Rolling Stone’s New Artists You Need to Know. The videos for “Money Baby” and “Cut Her Off” have collectively amassed more than 138 million online views. His debut album, Only Way Is Up was released in September 2015 and features the gold-certified hit single, “Comfortable.” K Camp is ready to heat things up with his new track “5 Minutes,” which features fellow Atlanta rapper, 2 Chainz.

ABOUT DEJ LOAF

Columbia Records rapper, DeJ Loaf exploded into the music landscape with an audible bang. In practically record time, the Detroit rap maven has reminded the hip hop world how an unknown female luminary can still dazzle the genre and set it apart from any other art form; Her alluring composure was first on display with her breakout cautionary taunt, “Try Me,” (soaring to #1 at Urban Radio and snagging gold status), and the more recent, sultry follow-up, “Me U N Hennessey,” which lustily threads the ever-prominent Lil Wayne into her seductive snare.  She’s accrued these breakthrough milestones with a hypnotic delivery all her own, setting rhymes adrift with a breathy nimbleness that floats abstract riffs over dead-gaze verbal might.  Anointed by XXL as part of their 2015 Freshman Class of Hip Hop trailblazers in a much-buzzed about cover story, mainstream praise by Rolling Stone, USA Today, EW and others has hailed her as the year’s rap newcomer. DeJ has also been nominated for 3 BET Awards (including Best New Artist), proclaimed the ‘future of hip hop,’ by The Observer and other media outlets, with the 24 year old ingénue holding sway over a bandwagon growing larger by the hour.
