U.S. Tour Dates Announced For Proggy Psych Punk Band People’s Blues Of Richmond

People’s Blues of Richmond announce next round of tour dates in support of their upcoming album release, Quit or Die (streets June 10, 2016). Singles from the album have recently premiered on Consequence of Sound and All the Things on Relix. Afropunk will premiere album track “I Understand” on May 17th.

The band had an immensely successful performance at Sweetwater festival (with Kid Rock, Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, Bastille, Ludacris) and are already confirmed for Laid Back Festival at Red Rocks Amphitheater in September alongside Greg Allman, ZZ Top, Richie Furay Band and others. The band routinely performs at massive outdoor festivals like Electric Forest, LOCKN’ & Gasparilla, and sharing bills with legends and critical favorites like Modest Mouse, Tom Petty, Gary Clark Jr., Gogol Bordello and Dinosaur Jr.

“Touring around playing live shows is our full time job,” explains front man and band co-founder Tim Beavers II. “One reason we spend more time on the road than in the studio is because there’s nothing like the feeling of performing on stage. The nervous excitement, the strange bliss of losing yourself in the chaos, and the undeniable ecstasy of a room full of people being simultaneously baptized in wave after wave of sonic holy water.”

Quit or Die is the bands third album. People’s Blues of Richmond (formed in 2009) is Tim Beavers II on vocals and guitar, Matthew Volkes on vocals and bass and Nekoro Williams on vocals and drums. Artists the band cites as influences include Modest Mouse, Gogol Bordello, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Against Me!, Black Keys, Dr. Dog, Dopapod, The Lawsuits and Built to Spill.

“A maelstrom of songwriting and camaraderie” says Guitar World. Consequence of Sound implores listeners to “Take this band seriously, or miss hearing what vital guitar rock sounds like in 2016.” And Relix Magazine calls the band’s sound “A psychedelic dreamland of mysterious sirens, flophouse destruction & good ol’ drug-fueled rock & roll mayhem.”
