RECAP: The Original Regulator Warren G Performs at LAX Nightclub Thursday, Oct. 20
The G-Dub sound filled the room at LAX Nightclub inside Luxor Hotel and Casino Thursday, Oct. 20, when the original regulator Warren G took the stage. The gangsta rap icon performed a set of hits including “This D.J.,” “Do You See,” and “Regulate,” as well as songs he collaborated on with other artists, including “So Fly” with 213, “All About U” with 2Pac, “21 Questions” with 50 Cent, and “Nobody Does It Better” with Nate Dogg, to whom he paid tribute during his Throwback Thursday performance.
Hip-hop icon Warren G exploded onto the Southern California rap scene with the release of his debut album, “Regulate…G Funk Era” and its eponymous lead single, “Regulate.” The song was included on VH1’s 100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop and on Pitchfork Media’s Top 200 Tracks of the ’90s. Warren G went on to release several albums throughout the decade including “Take a Look Over Your Shoulder,” “I Want It All,” and “The Return of the Regulator.”
