Who are SKULS?

SKULS (@OfficialSKULS) is a music duo from the Bay Area currently residing in Los Angeles. Their music is a unique take on electronic music which blends an extremely cinematic sound design with their specific taste and culture. The duo has appeared on Rinse FM and received high praise & support from UK legend Plastician, who put forth their previous EP, “Lost Knowledge” on Terrorhythm Recordings – a label which has released the likes of GANZ, KRNE, AWE & Louis Futon.

Tell us about your current project Terminal!

A year ago we moved down to LA with some good friends to pursue our music career. Things did not go as planned and it ended up to be a pretty dark year for a lot of reasons. During this experience we made Terminal. Terminal showcases the lows and highs of going through major changes in your life while chasing after something bigger than yourself. It took us over a year to create this EP and we could not be more content with the outcome. Shoutout to Plastician and Terrorhythm for always supporting us.

Do you feel your current project is the best introduction to you as an artist?

When we first finish the songs we feel they’re a good introduction to us but yet again we are constantly evolving and changing. We think this EP is a great introduction to the story/concept side of SKULS. We really want to make stories out of our music and this is the first time we really tried to make that happen.

What is the music landscape in your neck of the woods?

Whatever sounds good and is genuine. its that simple.

What’s on your horizon for 2017?

We want to release more and play more shows.

The Hype Magazine wants to know: What’s been your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?! Or “WTF?!” moment thus far in your career?

Last year we went to an S-type concert in LA and met Baauer. We had our friend go up to him and say he was his biggest fan, even though he did not know any of his music. We actually got the whole incident on tape. It ended up being really awkward and we’ve regretted it since. Shouts out to Baauer. Also we had ramen at our apartment in LA with Plastician. It was a very memorable moment.
