Five Questions with GNRA

GNRA (@iamGNRA) is one of those surprises from the islands…he’s a problem for sure!

Tell us about your current project and or single!

I am excited about my upcoming project “Heart lines.” The project has a Dancehall/Pop vibe for everyone. Throughout the EP, it tells a story and I can’t wait for people to hear it.

Do you feel your current project is the best introduction to you as an artist?

Yes, my father was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. Dancehall has been a big influence in my life. As well as pop, being raised in the United States. I feel as an artist you should always touch your roots. I believe a great foundation is built for the audience when you show where you come from.

What is the music landscape in your neck of the woods?

The music landscape in my neck of the woods varies because of the diverse culture within Florida. I would say it has too much variety to put it in one category. Personally, I stepped into the pop/soul/reggae vibe. Because at this point I know people need something more than just a song, they need something that they can relate to. And I believe the pop/soul and definitely reggae vibes can do that. The world needs a changin’ and I might be that guy willing to be the difference within this landscape we call music.

00-2 What’s on your horizon for 2017?

I  plan on continuing on doing shows and traveling; but most importantly getting straight to work on my next project/album. After the release of my Debut EP, I plan on showing the audience there is more to GNRA than what meets the eye.

The Hype Magazine wants to know: What’s been your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?! Or “WTF?!” moment thus far in your career?

At Panama City Beach, I went with my brother and friends in an RV. One of the greatest times of my life. Partying on the beach, there was a dance competition and I gladly accepted to be apart of it. The music began and I did a backflip off the stage into the crowd and front flipped back on. The crowd went crazy, and I ended up winning first place out of everyone.
