Che gave us a little more insight in a brief interview…tune in!
From the outside looking in, who is Che Blaq?
[Che Blaq represents] classic R&B with today’s attitude and appeal. Che Blaq is passionate, dedicated, and honest. That’s what my music represents. The true essentials of R&B music.
What brought you to the entertainment industry, music specifically?
As a kid I was always amazed with great singers. Their larger than life, yet humble personas always felt like home to me. I’d have to say the moment I could follow New Edition‘s N.E. Heartbreak album note for note was when I knew what I wanted to do.
Tell us about your current project and your ApolloNightLA “Artist of the Week” winning single “Ready.”
I am currently working on my 2nd full length album #NEWBLAQCITY. It’s a very different take away from my first solo album FEARLESS DELUXE which features the winning song “READY” that was aired on Apollo Night LA.
For new listeners, what song of yours would you pick as an introduction to you?
I would say my song “THE FALL” would be a great introduction to Che Blaq music. I tend to write from a lot of personal experiences, so a lot of the material that you get from me is very personal.
Last but not least, HYPE wants to know…What’s your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?!” moment…
I remember performing a few years ago and I unfortunately got too close to the end of the stage. I got to a certain part in a song where I hit a really really high note and a young lady in the front row decided to reach up and grab me by the jewels. It hurt lol.
