Five Questions with Sleep Skee

I began writing music back in 2004. My main focus was to polish up my writing and delivery before I actually started recording. I created a MySpace music page I believe 2005. After releasing a few “rough drafts” I noticed my page getting a lot of attention. MySpace became my primary source for networking. After four years of mingling with a few artists and promoters from Atlanta, I packed my bags and relocated. I had no family or friends down there just drive and ambition. I had a demo with about 5 songs and I shopped that demo everywhere. Ranging from open mic events to actually stopping at a few labels to speak with execs. One day my girlfriend at the time was watching Ellen and she was talking about Twitter. My girlfriend had told me about Twitter… I created one… And The Rest Is History…
My current project I’m working on is entitled #QualityOverQuantity2. I don’t have an official release date because I’m constantly changing material. (Playlist… Producers… Etc) I do plan on making it an #Coast2Coast Exclusive So Stay Tuned!!
I actually feel each project allows me to improve so I don’t really have a favorite. But my first mixtape bottles and spirit drove my supporters to want more. I released that project on datpiff during the winter of 2009 I believe. I then followed up with futuristic flow 2 during the spring of 2010. This mixtape alone has set many trends within the industry but you would only know that if you were around at that time.
Who are some of the artists that we should keep our eyes on from your label Ewop4Entertainment beside yourself heading into 2017 ?
I’m actually focused on building the Sleep Skee brand at the moment. I have a few artists and producers I’m working with but nothing is solid.
Everyone wants to use their platform to deliver a message. So, with that being said what is your message that you want to public to get from your craft ?
My Message Is Simple “Grind2Rise”. Nothing is given in this world and if you want something you have to grind for it. This has been my slogan since 2006 although the industry ran off with it and tried to switch it up to “Rise And Grind”. Does that even make sense??
