Live Session: The Hype Magazine Interview’s Felixx

A classically trained singer with influential energy from Mozart, John Mayer, Calvin Richardson, Prince, Justin Timberlake and Miguel, the R&B crooner is one of the few artists today to make records incorporating live instrumentation and does so with convincing passion. His moniker, taken from his birth name Felix with the addition of an “x,” refers to his “Clark Kent” ability to effortlessly transition from one genre to another while remaining GQ smooth.

Opening for “Puff & The Family” at the 2016 Essence Festival, Felixx is set to open for Baby Face, Jagged Edge, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and more, Felixx has been featured on various media outlets such as; BET, VH1, Rolling out, STREETZ 94.5, V103, Hot 107.9, Rated R&B, just to name a few. His talent has also received the attention of various A&Rs and labels, as well as, scouts on American Idol, America’s Got Talent, and The Voice. In addition to Felixx being Atlanta’s choice for the 2015 BET Insta Star contest and receiving a spot in the final top five, he was also named 2015 Independent Artist of the Year.

Felixx’s self-titled debut EP features the lead single, “Keep Calm,” recently featured in the 5 o’clock mix on Atlanta’s Streetz 94.5. Recently collaborating with industry heavy hitters like Jazze Pha and MA$E, Felixx has begun working on his new project, PLAYLIST, expected to be released mid October. Showing musical diversity and seamlessly tying together R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop, Pop and Rock, Felixx truly is a unique example of contemporary art set to music.
