Premier: The AM’s remix “Kitty Kat” and mashup “Two Stars X Journeys End”

The AM (Acoustic Minds) (@AcousticMinds) were voted Portland’s “Band of the Year” in 2010 and their music continues to drive them forward into the daily conversation of Electronic Music. The AM’s music has been described as “Moody Soul Bass Music” and their latest creations are pure heaven. If you love the intricacies of music creation, from the celebration of rhythm, to the emotional connection music can bring, these creatives should be on your radar!

We got the busy crew to answer a few questions as part of this premier to discuss how they came together, what they feel about their current music, as well as giving us the heads up on their journey for 2017!

Tell us about your current project!

Well, we are four strangers who came together to create multi-genre bass music. We never expected to become best friends in the process.

Do you feel your current project is the best introduction to you as artists?

We all work together on this project and through the process (6 years) we have found our own way as individuals, as people, and as artists.
We are in a four-way relationship and it’s now turned polygamous.
Yes, we “might” all be in love with one another.

Premier: Kitty Kat Remix

Premier: Two Stars x Blackmill MashUp

How does it feel to know Electronic based music is changing the face of the global music community?

We started our own shift towards creating electronic music in 2012. It feels very good to see the world taking its own liking to the genre. It’s cool to see where it’s come from. Underground warehouse raves, to hundred thousand person festivals, all for the love of BASS! We are huge fans of the diversity and openness that electronic music allows for.

We appreciate the ability to be able to create music of any genre, from any part of the world, in the comfort of your own home. OPPORTUNITES ARE ENDLESS!!

What’s on your horizon for 2017?

Releasing the new album, been working on it for a few years now, its been a labor of love in many ways, creating a name for ourselves (new music, new videos, new name, new adventures)

Speaking of Adventures…this crew has been on a wild ride throughout their career…check out some of their craziest moments thus far as they navigated the maze to stardom!

The Hype Magazine wants to know: What’s been your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?! Or “WTF?!” moment thus far in your career?

There have been a few WTF!? moments!

-A festival in the trees, Human Nature, we are rocking our set and ask “how everyone is feeling” we hear these hoots and hollers coming from the trees and realize there are people in the trees, They say “we’re here man, in the tree, you guys are killing it” Later after our set went into the forest to find several patrons in the trees on shrooms. Trippin Balls.

-Performed in Eugene, Oregon a few years back the club was cracking. A girl in the front row kept screaming and dancing. Right in the middle of our cover of Katy B‘s “On a Mission” she went catapulting into the stage. Knocked over the speaker, the mic stands, and the power to the stage. Drummer kept playing, didn’t miss a beat; the power came on, and we kept going. There is much truth in the saying, “the show must go on.”

-Burnside Tavern last year in Austin for SXSW, Music Gorilla Showcase. People get turned up in this city and festival! We closed out Friday night, and the crowd was LIT! Dancing on the bars, throwing their under panties at the stage, even the bartenders jumped up on the bar!

Bonus: Two Stars (Original)
