Interview with Ronny B – ‘Drop It Like It’s Sexy’

Ronny B. first gained national attention in 2008 when she was flown to audition for “America’s Got Talent” in Los Angeles, California.  In 2010, she performed on “American Idol” and later on, she appeared on the “X-Factor”.

She is currently recording in San Diego and recently released her latest song, “Drop It Like It’s Sexy,” feat Monica Ursino which has gone viral.  Ronny B is also corroborating with Ladies’ Code who is a girl group from South Korea.  Their music genre is predominantly pop with a retro sound, as well as swing/jazz and “modern electro-pop.”

The Hype Magazine had the opportunity to chat with Ronny B. in an in interview to discuss the new single “Drop It Like It’s Sexy.”

The Hype Magazine: How long have you been doing music?

Ronny B: I been doing music since I was 8 years old.

The Hype Magazine: What drew you into the music scene?

Ronny B: Mostly what influenced me were my grandparents and watching other artists out there of the 80s and the 90s.

The Hype Magazine: What were your experiences like on “America’s Got Talent”, “American Idol”, and “X-Factor?”

Ronny B: The experience on “American Idol” was very wonderful, fulfilling, and having gone to Vegas was my goal. Going to American Idol and meeting the judges was awesome.

The Hype Magazine: What was it like working with the judges?

Ronny B: It was mostly rewarding. I’ve learned so much throughout the auditions because I was there for about a month on the show.

The Hype Magazine: Tell me about your new single, “Drop It Like It’s Sexy.”

Ronny B: For the single “Drop It Like It’s Sexy”, I will touch on my experience, what I go through in my life, dreams, and to show that anybody can be dropping it like it’s sexy whatever gender you are. It’s a party song.

The Hype Magazine: What is a typical day like for you?

Ronny B: Listening to music, exercise, dance, and listen to my “Drop It Like It’s Sexy.”

The Hype Magazine: What advice would you give someone who wants to pursue this career?

Ronny B: Never ever give up. Simple as that. Never give up. Believe it. You can achieve it.

The Hype Magazine: What are 5 things people don’t know about you?

Ronny B: I like to bike ride. I do a lot of running also. I eat a lot of healthy foods like salad. I like to watch a lot of drama and comedy and I do acting.

Ronny B. is an actor, singer, dancer, songwriter, and entertainer.  She was born in Manilla, Philippines, but grew up in Oxnard, California.  When she was eight years old, she started singing, dancing and entertaining for her family and friends and developed her own creative style of music and dance.  In high school, the music genres that most influenced her creativity were Motown, pop and disco from the ‘80s and ‘90s.
