Nomadic Folk Metal Group TENGGER CAVALRY coming to North America

Nomadic Folk Metal…this is a brand new discovery for me and TENGGER CAVALRY has been my introduction to the genre. When their new joint “Cursed” hit my inbox today, I took a listen to what turned out to be a wild auditory experience. Taken from their new album, “Die On My Ride,” out June 2, 2017 the song is a not only strong on sonics, the message from “Cursed” is right on time…no matter what genre. BTW, these cats sold out Carnagie Hall!!!

Here’s the official line on the group and their upcoming release and North American tour

Global Music Award-winning nomadic folk metal group TENGGER CAVALRY have already released two new singles from their upcoming album, Die On My Ride, out June 2 via M-Theory Audio. The tracks, entitled “Die On My Ride” and “Ashley” portray two very different sides of the band, both musically and conceptually.

Upcoming North American Tour Begins June 3 in Montreal, QC

Today, TENGGER CAVALRY introduced a third track into the mix. “Cursed” is a more introspective look at breaking down personal barriers risen by oneself and others. The lyric video premiered today on Metal Hammer:

“‘Cursed’ is about breaking barriers,” says TENGGER CAVALRY frontman Nature G. “Society has always put up different mental and physical barriers barring individuals just trying to achieve their dreams. You are too short, you are minority, you are a female not a man, you are from somewhere else, you don’t look good enough. All these disadvantages that we think we are born with, are like a curse to us. We are cursed for believing these barriers, aren’t we? No, we are not. We need to break this barrier of belief. We need to strike it and claim who we are supposed to be. Cursed, or rise above the curse.”

Die On My Ride is available to pre-order now in both physical CD and vinyl format via M-Theory Audio or digitally via the band’s Bandcamp page. The album is distributed by AISA/RED in North America and PHD in the UK. Die On My Ride adds new flavor to the band’s celebrated, exotic metal-meets-Mongolian/Central Asian musical influence and lyrical explorations of tradition, history and warfare. The album further delves into topical themes of personally-experienced racial discrimination, identity conflicts and equal rights issues while exploring new sounds and musical influence.

In addition to hearing these tracks on Die On My Ride, you can witness them live on the band’s upcoming 25+ date North American headline tour featuring support from Felix MartinMalphasSicocis and Helsott. About TENGGER CAVALRY:

As one of the most unique and innovative acts in modern music, TENGGER CAVALRY (“the army of the sky god” in Mongolian) blends the nomadic musical traditions, instrumentation and warrior spirit of Central Asia with the aggression and power of heavy metal. The group was founded by Nature “G” Ganganbaigal, who sings using the ancient Mongolian tradition of Khoomei (more commonly known as throat-singing) and plays multiple native instruments, including the Morin Khuur (an ancient fiddle), the Tovshuur (a Mongolian guitar) and the Mongolian flute.

Following Nature G’s relocation to America four years ago, TENGGER CAVALRY has successfully completed two headlining tours and even sold out a performance at New York City’s prestigious Carnegie Hall.

In the studio, meanwhile, the group’s output has been prodigious – since forming in 2010, they’ve released four full-length albums, two EPs and numerous singles, including unique cover interpretations of metal classics. In January, Megadeth‘s Dave Mustaine retweeted the group’s cover of “Symphony of Destruction,” while the previous month, the official Motörhead Facebook page reposted their rendition of “Fight.”

TENGGER CAVALRY has been praised by top media outlets such as Metal HammerTerrorizerBillboardCNNThe Huffington Post and countless others.
