Tonight Ruff Endz debuts powerful new single for ‘Shots Fired’ TV special event series (premiere)

“Shots Fired” is the small screen version of what some used to consider “Just another Hip Hop story.” Some folks need visuals to get the message and the reality based series is the perfect vehicle. Weekly, the music team for the FOX TV special event series led by veteran music supervisors Jabari Ali and John Houlihan (@ParagonFilmMusifeature a joint that’s key to the story. In a phone conversation today May 3, 2017, Ali indicated this week’s song debut of  “Speak To My Heart” performed by Ruff Endz, ft. Marqus Clae, is a heartfelt message that fits current daily events.

Ruff Endz, Marqus Clae, Mack Wilds and Katlyn Nichol will perform live TONIGHT Wednesday May 3 at Mic Live in Studio City, CA.

 

 

Multiplatinum recording artists, Ruff Endz, are coming to reclaim their spot as one of the industry’s top R&B groups with the release of “Speak To My Heart.”   The original song, written by Talia Shire Burgess and Marqus Richard, will debut this Wednesday night on Shots Fired.  The emotionally charged track features actor/rapper Marqus Clae and represents a pivotal point of transition for the characters and community in FOX‘s popular TV film.  Ruff Endz will perform the song live this Wednesday with Marqus Clae at a viewing party of Hour 7 at Mic Live in Studio City (12229 Ventura Blvd.). Mack Wilds, a rapper and main character of the show, and Katlyn Nichol will also perform.  “Speak To My Heart” is now available on iTunesShots Firedairs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.  Watch the Trailer.

Ruff Endz feels that this experience and work was destined for them.  “This is a very impactful project. Coming from Baltimore and living through the riots, it’s like we were meant to be involved,” says singer Dante Jordan.  “Speak To My Heart” represents a true plea for unity and love amongst the community.  The song encourages the characters to keep pushing and fighting in an effort to build a strong legacy despite the differences and challenges they face.

Shots Fired exposes the depths of police shootings in a racially charged North Carolina town. Integral to the storyline is an incredible music soundtrack, which offers intergenerational songs with an array of original music created for the series. Veteran music supervisors, Jabari Ali and John Houlihan, were tapped for this special project in an effort to fuse the perfect mix of musical genres including hip-hop, blues, gospel, R&B and alternative.
