Five Questions with Victor Pedro:

Love him or hate him, whatever you do, you cannot ignore this pretty boy of West African origin. Victor Pedro, a South African based, born Nigerian artist, is amongst the current wave of a list of new African Pop artists that are defining their sound and careers at their own terms, taking South Africa and the world at large by storm.

Strongly influenced by the sounds of Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Anita Baker, a strong vocalist and performer, Victor Pedro kicked off his career, recording his first song at the tender age of 13. A decade later, Victor Pedro, in the prime of his career, is receiving insurmountable attention by both peers in the industry as well as music fans and lovers. His recent offering How Far, featuring Busiswa, is enjoying incremental rotation across various media platforms, nationwide. Testament to his style of music delivery, infused with blends of a drum base beat, that propels a sway to the hips, Victor Pedro dishes out dance hits that have the masses on their feet.

Having had the priviledge of having his music playlisted on popular media platforms such as Trace Urban, MTV, Channel O, Ukhozi FM, Metro FM and YFM to name a few, Victor Pedro, has shared the stage with world renowned African artists such as: Big Nuzz, Queen Change, Enigma Jon Germain, Eindo, Ketchup, Jjstar, Nomdakasana, Tony Harmony.

Recently signed to new artist management, Samantota Promotions, #notarecordlabel #soundentertainment, who are touted as the next leading entertainment brand in Africa, Victor Pedro who is shaking grounds with beat, is a sure force to be reckoned with.

Tell us about your current project?

“How Far?” Is the name of my current project, the fans got mad love for it .. the video concept is not as raunchy like the lyrics lol .. which is a lot more mute RE the intended message of the song .. so I call it world class.

What’s on your bucket list to accomplish as an entertainer?

A one man show with over 50,000 or more people waiting to be entertained by me, i’d love to give autographs on till no one is left.. Be the voice of Africa young talents and also make great achievements.

Will you be finishing out 2017 on the road or what’s on your horizon for 2018?

Definitely I will be finishing out 2017 on the road, killing shows etc., also my 2018 is gonna be another wavy level, I’m looking forward too putting out an EP for the fans as well.

The Hype Magazine wants to know: What’s been your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?! Or “WTF?!” moment thus far in your career?

LOL I’ve had a “WTF” moment where by the DJ who played for me at one of my club shows, wasn’t in my zone…I needed him to play the next song only to find out he’s busy transacting with another person. I’ve also had craziest moments were I had to put up my car for sale just so I could complete one of my projects, the car was sold by the car dealer but I never got the money till this date.. I believe it’s part of the journey.
