Shar Bates: Art of Radio Recap and Refresh
The industry is no stranger to the name Shar Bates. The self made Industry paid Flint, MI phenom has been hitting Atlanta over the head event after event for the past few years. From her “Breaking The Chains” Non-Profit, to the “Art of Radio” events, Shar is one who proves that determination, dedication, and passion can work to ones advantage.
Recently, I had the pleasure of attending her most recent Art of Radio event which featured a LIVE interview with the Man himself, Hurricane Dave of Hot 107.9.
With a brand of “Not another Open Mic or Showcase,” Shar has started to provide independent artist with a platform of pure exposure. Artist have the chance to perform for more than just other artist. Finally! I am tired of a room of soon to be’s and no patrons.
For those who missed this event, let me name drop for a minute. We had Suga Shane, Felixx, J. Morris, and a few others as headliners, not to mention ayTek (Asst. Program Dir. of Hot 107.9, Boom 102.9), J. Morris (Asst. Indie Music Coordinator of Hot 107.9), Lucki of Star Quality Firm, Blizm (Program Director of K100), A Lindsey of LHHATL, Celeb Master Stylist – Joscynthia Mason, Celeb EDM Dj – Stormy ATL, Stroud of Grand Hustle, DJ Mike Mars, and the ONE, DiamondKesawn (LoL) as special guest. Yeaaaaaaaaaah, it was that kind of night.
