Five Questions with Layla Khepri:

Hailing from the DMV, Viral Sensation Layla Khepri began her MVP days as a star athlete and fitness buff. Walking away from a soccer scholarship to pursue Music full-time, Layla has been touring all over the world and gaining fans ever since. Touring in the US and Canada and sharing stages with Drake, Future, 2 Chainz, Yo Gotti and more.

Winning an Underground Music Award for “Best Live Performer” and “Best New Artist” from the International Music Conference, her high energy live performance and rapid delivery continue to impress fans worldwide as she expands her career into acting and beyond.

As you see yourself, who is Layla Khepri?

Layla Khepri is a fun, energetic, loving, bossy, intelligent, creative, go-getting, young living legend. All that. Lol. There are so many dimensions to me for real it’s crazy. I just have so many interests and see myself as being so many great things you can’t really put a label on me. Just don’t be surprised when you see me doing a multitude of things on a super large spectrum like selling lemonade. Lol. Sike nah. But really though.

Tell us about your current project?

My current project I’m working on, which was initially going to be called, “Trappy Go Lucky”, but may change by the time of release, is the perfect display of everything about me. It gives you a taste of the many dimensions I talked about and induces a feeling of flyness, inspiration, promotes good vibes and having fun living life no matter what, and also gives a deeper look into my own struggles I’ve gone through both in the past and currently and into my beliefs and practices. I’ve grown a LOT this past year. After losing my mom earlier in January a lot has changed about me and this project reveals that. I’m on some boss take over the world type note and I want this project to leave its mark in an awesome way.

What’s on your bucket list to accomplish as an entertainer?

To be a positive role model for people and affect the world in a way that brings about positive change, that would be winning for me. Aside from that, you already know I got that Grammy and Oscar sitting pretty on the dream board waiting for me.

Will you be finishing out 2017 on the road or what’s on your horizon for 2018?

I have some out of town shows all throughout the rest of the year but no official tour runs planned right now. These next few months are really going to be why my 2018 is so lit. We’ll be heavily pushing my hit single, “Smile and Wave”, and building up my Youtube channel as I delve more into the creative directing side with Indigo Films and Lady Redz. I’m already gearing up for festivals all the way out Brazil (shout out to my manager Essince), and will also be touring, dropping the new project, and just so much more it’s gonna be insane. 2018 is definitely gonna be a blessed year for me.

The Hype Magazine wants to know: What’s been your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?! Or “WTF?!” moment thus far in your career?

Haaaaaaaaa! Okay…so my “WTF” moment was probably when I was on tour with Huey Mack and Futuristic and after one of the shows when everyone was a meet and greet with the fans, a chick came up to me and grabbed me…like GRABBED me. LOL Like I was so caught off guard cuz I obviously wasn’t expecting that like, I knew they be grabbing dudes meat but you jah reaching if you trynna cup and hang on tight to my lower lady flaps. LMAO Soooo that, that was my “WTF” moment off top.
