Legendary singer and songwriter Betty Wright who rose to fame in the 70s with such hits as “No Pain No Gain,” “Cleanup Woman, “and “Tonight is the Night” celebrated 50 years of success in the music business this past weekend in Miami. This private gathering included celebrity performances and appearances by singers Bishop Bullwinkle, Michael Sterling, City of Miami Commissioner Keon Hardemon, NFL Alumni Bryan McKinnie, Mia X and many others. The City of Miami also presented Betty Wright with a Proclamation declaring October 5, 2017 “Betty Wright Day.”

From the red carpet that greeted guests as they arrived to the elegantly dressed attendees, this event brought out some of the best and brightest queens and kings that South Florida has to offer. “I am always humbled when someone remembers me and wants to honor me for the things I have done,” says Betty Wright. “There is a lot of love in this room and I am grateful for all of it.”
