Big Krit Reinvents Down Home Blues in Latest LP

The country aesthetic of Big Krit’s latest double album, 4Eva is a Mighty Long Time, demonstrate poetic reflections of both his alter ego, and intimate personality.   “People know lyrically, I go in and you should never take me lightly on any record.”

After parting ways with Def Jam Recordings, Krit @BIGKRIT  introduces his independent label Multi Alumni with his cohesive studio album.   Highlighted producers of the LP include Mannie Fresh, Cory Mo, and DJ Khalil.   Big Krit rhymes heavenly bars mixed with his signature bass crescendos and calm country sound.   Big Krit is a Meridian, Mississippi native who proves current rap is not lacking of lyrical content.  He appeared on the independent rap scene around 2010.  Krizzle will take you on a back wood journey from his philosophical dreams to your raw existence. These bars blossom from tactful instinct to Southern appreciation. Yet his bars are not without influence, Krit lightly references 70’s blues legend Johnny Taylor and the O’Jays.  The rapper employed heavyweights UGK including the late Pimp C., T.I., and Cee-Lo Green to compliment his inspirational arrangements.  Neo-soul veterans jazzy belle Jill Scott and crooner Bilal also grace the album’s track list. This tape inspires the grind.  These existential rhymes use Krit’s cultural awareness or vicious voice to spread the gospel.  The trio of “Confetti,” “Keep The Devil Off,” and “Aux Chord” were released as an introduction to the album.

The artistry of Southern rap is in good hands and Big Krit might be the most slept on current emcee in the rap industry.  The 22-track double album mixes smooth spiritual affirmations with an urban mystique. This is definitely for the current movers and the shakers.  Big Krit is a skilled emcee bringing politically conscious Cadillac flows to the forefront, again.  His Mississippi mud roots will feed your soul.  Krit’s delivery is mature aside immaculate personal production.  Concrete classic Blues influences make the album and acoustic masterpiece.  Despite having to create his own rap melodies,  his genuine talent, harmonizes and brings rare rhymes. The South is dominated by rappers doing big things from the streets to the studio.  Big Krit is a visionary who somehow continues to elevate his craft.  His bold, bittersweet, soulful lyrics represent the history of his region, and the future of Blues.  Overall, it’s the knowledge of both internal and external resistance to negativity.  As an emcee Big Krit has a higher calling, to revive the art of storytelling, and to resurrect the soul in hip hop.
