Damian Lillard’s Front Page Music Launches 1St Artist ‘Duece’

The NBA’s Portland Trailblazer Damian Lillard founded his record label Front Page Music earlier this year, and FPM just launched its first artist, Bay Area Native and Portland transplant, Duece. Dropping his first of 4 mixtapes to be released over the next few weeks, BETTER is debut mixtape that will compose the total project BETTER LATE THAN NEVER, this mixtape has an array of producers such as Arkutec, Tha Shipmates, and Deadbrainz, and includes features from two of Front Page Music’s “4BarFriday” contest winners GeeNess and Teezy on ‘Ryan’s Song’ and ‘Shoes.’ This mixtape is geared toward hip hop heads who love throwback beats, boom bap, lots of lyrics, taking listeners on an audio journey of Duece’s evolution into becoming a better man and artist. BETTER has a coinciding video for the track ‘BlackStar,’ the video being produced by Bay Area’s Will Wavy Productions featuring a 90’s style video reminiscent of the throwback TV station “The Box.”

A contributor to Damian Lillard’s first album “The Letter O” Duece is the first artist to be signed to Damian Lillard’s new label Front Page Music, in addition to co-managing the label, Duece will be releasing a 4 part 17 track themed mixtape called Better Late Than Never each week throughout November & December. Each mixtape has a separate theme and an array of producers such as Arkutec, Tha Shipmates, Like Deadbrainz, Drae Slapz, Manny Lotus, Cardiak, OMN, Nakyooes, Kelly Portis, Super Miles, LockAFK, Joel Roger Weston. Duece originally started out rapping, but turned to managing and promoting other artists in the Bay Area over the last few years, before returning to the best of both worlds producing and featuring on Dame’s projects, working on his own solo music, as well as helping with day to day operations for Front Page Music.
