Five Questions With Sean Turk

As you see yourself, who is Sean Turk?

I’m a producer, writer, and artist out of Long Island, New York. Honestly though all in all I’m just a regular dude trying to push my music as hard as I can and work at it every day. I always loved classic RnB and contemporary sounds of Hip-Hop/R&B and electronic music that I wanted to fuse the two and create something really dope. I’m super inspired by people like J Dilla, No I.D. , Pharrell all the way to Flume and Cashmere Cat. I’ve been producing for over 10 years and always wrote for people on the side but one day I decided to try out being the artist instead of finding singers to work with all the time. Being the producer, writer and artist gives me so much freedom to really experiment with sonics. And I hope people dig that shit.

Tell us about your current project?

I’m working on a bunch of songs that I am experimenting different sounds with. I want to show the people who listen to my stuff that I can be super diverse and switch up my style and make whatever kind of music I’m feeling at that moment. I’m trying to push the boundaries of myself as a producer/writer and put out as much music as I can. There are a bunch of songs I made that I’m super hyped to show the world and they are all different vibes from each other. I just wanna make the soundtrack to someone’s breakup/turnup.

What’s on your bucket list to accomplish as an entertainer?

It would be really dope to be recognized as someone who is trying to push the boundaries and reach their full potential. That’s definitely one of my lifelong goals. To be able to create vibes for people to feel and sell out shows is one of my dreams too. I just want to have my music heard by as many people as possible. Another big one would be to write and produce for artists I really mess with.

Will you be finishing out 2017 on the road or what’s on your horizon for 2018?

I am trying to finish 2017 with a bunch of content under my belt so in 2018 you will see me dropping songs left and right. Hopefully doing shows and just spreading the movement. Definitely trying to make a statement and learn as much as I can in 2018. I feel like it’s going to be a big year.

The Hype Magazine wants to know: What’s been your CRAZIEST “Where they do that at?! Or “WTF?!” moment thus far in your career?

My craziest moment so far would have to be of when I shot my latest video with a friend of mine named Alex doing the video. Apparently, she had an issue with a youtube star and because of that there are pretty much death threats in the youtube comments about her but all saying “song is fire tho”. I felt really bad and couldn’t believe there were like 300 comments back to back. It was nuts. The internet is definitely a crazy place haha.

Recent Press:

New York bedroom bass artist–SEAN TURK–releases his debut original single and music video, “Lemonade.” Based off a simple chord-inspired melody, SEAN TURK’s latest is a classic vibey track that is simplistic yet undeniably relatable and catchy. SEAN teams up with his good friend JESSAME–a singer/songwriter from LA known for working with many rising artists, garnering several million plays worldwide.

Premiering on NEW NOISE HIP HOP, Sean Gonzales says of the single: “The song features Jessame and has smooth rhythm patterns to bring a calming atmosphere for the weekend. The lyrics detail meeting a partner in the city. From there the hook of the song takes the listener off into a euphoric image. Sean Turk’s hook driven ‘Lemonade’ is a must hear for those venturing into the city this weekend.”

SEAN TURK says of the project: “‘Lemonade’ is definitely one of my favorite tracks I produced I wrote. One day I sat down and started cooking up these chords and wanted to write a track about someone I had just met. I thought it be cool to make a concept about ‘Lemonade’ being a way to describe how much I liked someone haha. I cut the song in like a day and I sent it over to my good homie Jessame with just the first verse/chorus done. He loved it and hopped on the track. The rest is history!”

SEAN TURK is an American multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ who was born in Long Island, New York. SEAN’s production roots began in the R&B and hip hop culture where he spent years creating. He took what he learned during these experimental years and combined it with bass music. This style continues to evolve but in its current form has become known as ‘Bedroom Bass.’ Earmilk considered the style as the “yin and yang of love and lust.” Sean couldn’t agree more and has set out to combine various types of other styles such as indie electronic and funk house for a completely unique vibe.He launched this new project in early April 2016 and since has released a string of remixes that have been aired on American terrestrial radio stations Power 96.1 FM,LIVE  105 FM, and Power 90.1 FM as well as satellite radio stations SiriusXM Electric Area and SiriusXM BPM. TURK’s music has received praise by premiere media outlets Your EDM, Dancing Astronaut, ThisSongIsSick, Indie Shuffle, Earmilk and more. The Chainsmokers, DJ Snake, Cheat Codes and more continue to show support with his releases. “Lemonade” is the first original record he has ever released and he leaves us wanting more of his ‘bedroom bass’ signature sound.

2018 plans to be a BIG year for this prominent young, multi-talented artist!
