Jim Jones Now Part Owner of AAL’s Richmond Roughriders

Music, Fitness and Fashion Icon Jim Jones is now a part owner of the Richmond Roughriders along with Gregg Fornario and Michael Kacor. The Richmond Roughriders football team is part of the AAL, American Arena League.

“The Richmond Roughriders partnership with Jim Jones enables us to bring so much more to the table in regards to introducing the high impact sport of Indoor football to the Hip-Hop culture, allowing us to build the Richmond Roughriders brand not just in our community but nationwide,” said Gregg Fornario – Owner/GM Richmond Roughriders.

Jim Jones has always had a passion for sports. “I’m grateful for this opportunity and looking forward to taking the Roughriders to the top,” Jim Jones said, “Hopefully this will inspire the youth to pursue positive activities, especially through sports.”

The Richmond Roughriders starts its second season in March 2018. The American Arena League has 12 teams from Vermont to Florida.

Jim Jones is a Hip Hop Legend, Television Star, Entrepreneur, and Entertainment Mogul. He is known for successful hits such as “We Fly High” and “Pop Champagne” along with starring television roles on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop,” “Chrissy & Mr. Jones,” and currently “Vow or Never” via WEtv. Jim is now starring in Irv “Gotti” Lorenzo’s anthology series “TALES” on BET. He is the owner of the wildly popular Vampire Life Clothing brand which was founded by Jones in 2011 as well as the VampBerry beverage brand founded in 2014. Jones is one of the most notable music personalities whose contributions left a significant and innovative imprint in various aspects of entertainment. Richmond Roughriders Beginning their inaugural season in 2017, The Richmond Roughriders Professional Arena Football Team play all of their home games at the historic Richmond Coliseum in downtown Richmond, Virginia. Winner of the 2017 APF Championship, The Richmond Roughriders went undefeated in their first season, defeating the 2 time champion, Florida Tarpons, in the league championship on June 10th 2017. The Roughriders will begin the 2018 season in the newly formed American Arena League (AAL), comprised of multiple past champions of their respective leagues. The Richmond Roughriders will host their first home game of the 2018 season on March 31st as they welcome the leagues only expansion team, The Carolina Energy, to the Richmond Coliseum.
