The Legendary Eminem Awakens Rhyme Revival

Marshall Mathers better known as Eminem takes a sociopolitical stance in his latest album Revival.  Garnering heavy criticism for its content and vocal features, Eminem remains introspective in his rap musical catharsis.  An awakening of emotions and hostility, Revival is the 10th Studio album in Eminem’s arsenal.  The notable emcee chooses to use his platform for unity.  Binging together artist ranging from the soulful Alicia Keys to modern pop vocalist Ed Sheraan.  Detroit known for its rock and soul roots, baselines, and dark imagery.  Straight out of the Motor City Eminem has been a cultural icon for two decades.

He enlisted Detroit based producer, Denaun Porter moniker Kon Artis to solidify the album.  Porter has been beside Eminem since the tragic death of emcee and friend, Proof in 2006.  Kon Artis and Eminem have been collaborators since his 1996 underground album Infinite.  He stated of the album, “It’s just me letting go, i can’t just say I have faith, I’ve got to walk by it too.”  Songwriter and producer Mark Batson made the album cohesive while monitoring content and creativity.  Rick Rubin also contributed the high-powered single, “Remind Me,” sampling Joan Jett’s “I Love Rock and Roll.”  On track, “Bad Husband,” X-Ambassadors provide an indie pop mood, while newcomer Phresher displays hunger on spit track, “Chloraseptic.”   Producers sampled the Cranberries, “Zombie,” on the single “In Your Head.”

Although the hunger of his youth has dissipated , his respect for the hip hop culture is evident, as Eminem is in a veteran form of lyrical precision.  Eminem has generally taken a lane with Brownsville emcee Masta Ace this album is a rare Beastie Boys replica, containing both Pop vocals and classic rock samples.  Eminem reveals his internal damage free of his underground roots.  Revival is an emotional storm, in which he disbars the theory of White Jesus, or the concept that the European culture is more mainstream acceptable.  The implicit concept that America is in troubled water, mirrors his deep transgressions,  Beyonce’s angelic vocals supplement the first official single, “Walk on Water.”  This album is written in the ranks of Detroit musical history, as Mathers has endured personal demons, to emerge with strong political and spiritual awareness.  Let Eminem and Hip Hop Make America Great Again.
