Chamillionaire Presents New App Convoz At Venture Capital Summit

The upfront venture capitalist firm recently took for a Summit in Los Angeles and, not surprisingly, to those of us that know him, Chamillionaire wowed the audience with his pitch for his new social media app, Convoz. It should be widely known by now that Cham has been an integral component of the tech community for some years now, not simply as a spectator, but as an Entrepreneur in Residence and active mentor and investor at companies like Maker Studios and Cruise (acquired for $700 million and $1 billion respectively).

Convoz got its soft launch in the summer of last year and now they are ready to circulate the word to the masses. This will be helped in no little way by active investors and users like Snoop Dogg and major influences like Shaq (both of whom made an appearance during Cham’s presentation) as well as a bevy of other celeb investors; Big Boi of Outkast and E40 to name a few.

As Cham told TechCrunch for an article that ran last night, Convoz, the video-centric platform aims to be the place where you get to talk to people on a more personal level than current social media affords, without the anonymity that hiding behind a keyboard offers. He wants convoys to be an app where people converse face-to-face with stars like Shaq or find new acquaintances with common interests.

With regards, the likelihood of a positive outcome for Convoz and Chamillionaire’s chances of overall tech success, his long-time friend and VC investor, Mark Suster, says, “Cham has embodied the typical founder journey you would anticipate from any dropout kid from Stanford or Harvard. I would set him high on the list of startup founders who have a deep knowledge of the users they serve, what is unique about their app and how to build a product for scale.”
