SXSW Announces 2018 Lineup for SXSW Songs

For the second year running, South by Southwest® (SXSW®) presents SXSW Songs — a unique songwriting camp with a curated lineup of established producers and songwriters from around the world.

This annual writing camp runs from Sunday, March 11 through Tuesday, March 13 at Austin’s Arlyn Studios. Complementary programming on Wednesday, March 14 includes the SXSW Songs wrap-up panel “Co-Write!”, along with an industry event and listening party showcasing the completed songs at the House of Scandinavia from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at 340 E 2nd St.

SXSW Songs will feature a slate of 19 participants hailing from seven countries:

The SXSW Songs lineup is selected by an advisory board drawn from international management companies, music publishers, and performing rights societies. SXSW Songs advisors include industry professionals from Prescription Songs (US), Tileyard Music (UK), Budde Music (Germany) and Universal Music Publishing Group (Scandinavia).

SXSW conference programming on songwriting also features Golden Globe and Grammy-nominated songwriter Savan Kotecha, who will share a personal look into the business of successful songwriting in a Featured Speaker interview on March 14.

SXSW Songs debuted in 2017 with a slate of 15 participants hailing from 10 countries, including the US, UK, Scandinavia, Germany, Australia, and Singapore.  Writers and producers included Sigala, Freedo, Kelvin Jones, Sophie Rose, Nico Rebscher, Soaky Siren, Chiara Hunter, Kipp Williams and — performing double duty as South by Southwest® Music Festival showcasing artists — R.LUM.R and KUČKA.
