Lil’ Flip Announces ‘KING LIFE’ Double Album Release March 16
Houston-based rap icon Lil’ Flip celebrates 20 years in the hip hop game with the upcoming release of his KING LIFE double album on March 16 via Apple Music, Google Play, Spotify and Tidal, just one month after dropping his ‘G’ EP. Flip has released four EPs in a span of just four months with tracks featuring collaborations with MJG, Freon Icy Cold, H-Town, BeatKing, Zaytoven, and more. The double album KING LIFE is the multi-platinum rapper’s first double album in 10 years, and a limited number of hard copy collector’s editions will be available for true fans on CloverG.com and at Flip’s live shows.
The legendary “Freestyle King” recently premiered the official music video for “Battlefield” from his ‘K’ EP on Clover G TV. The “Battlefield” single released on Lil’ Flip’s ‘K’ EP is available for download on Apple Music, iTunes, or streaming on Spotify and Tidal. The official music video for “Battlefield” produced by King Life Family, Clover G TV, and Bigger Picture Productions, is directed by Lil’ Flip, shot and co-directed by Asher Underwood, and edited by Sean Pollaro. In his classic chopped and screwed flow, Flip emphasizes how he handles jokers that attempt to steal or take advantage of his generosity and style.
One of Lil’ Flip’s other creative talents includes his life long career as a painter and visual artist, to which he has been utilizing his influence to inspire youth to choose “Art Over Drugs” and pursue their artistic passions. Lil’ Flip is preparing to launch an official clothing line featuring his artwork on exclusive clothing designs in collaboration with Los Angeles based designer and owner of HDLV-USA, Benjamen Janey.

After 20 years in the game, Flip hasn’t lost a step and I dig the way he’s giving shots to up and comers on this EP. My editor’s pick from the project is Vision produced by Zaytoven, Flip rides solo on this one and it’s got those nuances that maximize Flip’s timbre and flow. I enjoyed the sonic concept of the other joints as they reminded me of some OG Mixtape audio…don’t laugh because in Houston, for quite some time, you could hardly sell a commercial Hip Hop CD, everybody wanted the new underground. This EP celebrates more than music and salutes some of the best times in music…going from studio to press…to the trunk…you know the rest! Shout out to H-Town, those signature voices add a dope flavor to the lead track from the EP Neva Satisfied Ft. H-Town and Freon Icy Cold.
